    Making lists is silly –(as Alex Gibney says in the first link “I don’t like 10-best lists. How do you rank “Spirited Away” over “Eastern Promises”? And I don’t even like proclaiming “great films…”) — but, having said that here were some movies i liked that were listed these two articles:

    Pan’s Labyrinth
    The Grand Budapest Hotel
    Grizzly Man
    Waltz With Bashir
    The Pianist
    Amelie
    The White Ribbon
    Beasts of the Southern Wild
    Spirited Away
    Wendy and Lucy
    The 40 Year-old Virgin
    There Will Be Blood
    No Country For Old Men

    Oh, and it annoys me that Million Dollar Baby made anyone’s great-film list.

    What? None of the Scooby Doo, Transformers or Super Hero movies listed? WTF?

    Obviously, these lists were composed by elite scum that our Dear President will free us from.

    Where is Resident Evil? Underworld? North Dallas Forty? The new Wonder Woman movie? Anchorman? How about adding horror movies like Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Carrie, Psycho? The old school ones, not the remakes. These writers know nothing about good films.

    Jack, the movies are from the 21st Century. A lot of the ones you listed are from the 20th.

    I had that same thought you did until I reread the initial post. I was like, where is “The Maltese Falcon” and Horse Feathers”?
