I say yes Rams beat Giants but it won’t be like playing the Raiders.
Don’t forget game is a 4:05 PM ET home game. So if you sit in front of the tv at 1:00 PM expecting a Rams game, forget it. Ain’t gonna happen.
Giants are 14th on offense (even while being 29th in yards per carry) and 26th on defense.
Meanwhile the Giants have beaten the Rams in their last 5 meetings (2002, 2003, 2005, 2008, 2011). Last time the Rams beat them was 2001. So it’s time for some payback.
December 15, 2014 at 10:53 am #13910WinnbradParticipantI think they’ll destroy the Giants. 26th on D? Bleh. We’ll run on’em, play-action pass, and then hammer Eli. I expect at least one pick-six.
December 15, 2014 at 11:02 am #13913nittany ramModeratorWin this week against the Giants then go into Centurylink Stadium and destroy the Seahawks on the eve of yet another Superbowl run.
That would sorta kinda salvage something of the season.
Sorta.
December 15, 2014 at 11:04 am #13915OahuRamParticipantI don’t know. I have not really thought much about this game since we have been eliminated and we have no chance at a winning season. I suppose it would be nice to see the defense bounce back and stop the run. It would also be nice to see if someone can step up and start projecting toward “difference maker” status. For example, it is great that Bailey shows flashes of becoming a dependable receiver but it would be great if he could start making plays that win games.

Grits

I’m just different from you guys. Once they were eliminated, I let that go. Now I watch to see them play and win. Doesn’t matter to me at all if the games “mean anything” or not.
Plus of course ending on wins is far better. I mean, just imagine the off-season suicide watch if they lose their last 3.
Now I have no idea why I have such a healthy outlook, and you guys don’t. It;s fine either way though because I don;t judge…to each his own.

Sports is the crucible of human virtue. The distillate remains are human vice.
December 19, 2014 at 9:04 am #14202znModeratorThe more I look into the Giants, the more I think this is an interesting test for the defense. They can throw and they can pass block.
It’s also a test for the OL. The Giants can rush the passer, too. So was looking THAT BAD against ARz just one particularly bad game (short week with banged up starters + a rookie) or is the OL really as consistently bad as it was in that one game.
Giants are 30th in rushing defense though. Which leaves us with a big mystery about how the Rams offense will play them.
Okay. Good pass rush, lousy run D.
How do you attack that? Hmmmmm.

I’m not sure if you’re confused about how time zones work or about how TVs work but that depends on where you’re sitting. If you’re sitting in front of a tv on the west coast at 1:00 pm then you will see a Rams game, assuming you have NFL Sunday Ticket and/or the game is being broadcast in your locality and you are tuned to the appropriate channel and the TV is switched ‘on’ and there is electricity running to the TV and you have the ability to see.

Well, yeah. I mean…assuming there is a game.
December 20, 2014 at 11:34 pm #14336InvaderRamModeratori say rams win big. and keep the streak of no touchdowns allowed going!
December 21, 2014 at 12:03 am #14337znhaterBlockedI think the rams have packed it in for the season. I wouldn’t be surprised if the lost although i want them to win.
December 21, 2014 at 1:33 am #14338sdramParticipantI’m picking the Giants cause I haven’t been right about the Rams much this season. So, if I pick the Rams, the god of fate will intervene yet again and the Giants will win. Cause, it’s all about who I pick. Nothing else really matters.
The Rams will probably score a touchdown or two this week. I read that Coughlin is likely to return as the GMen’s coach if he wants to. I hope it’s an entertaining game – The giants seem kind of jeckly and hydey to me.
I caught the last five minutes in the fourth and the overtime tonight of the 9ers-chargers game. Nice to see the 9ers crumbling into dust. Kept thinking where would the Rams be if they had won that charger game and one of a few others they pissed away earlier – they’d be in a must win situation tomorrow is my thought. Not that I think they could actually compete with the elite teams in the playoffs for the Lombardi but a taste of the competition could have went a long way toward maturing them for a run next season.
December 21, 2014 at 9:49 am #14345canadaramParticipantNo idea really.
However, I expect JPP to be a problem for both Robinson and Barksdale, depending where the Giants line him up. Similarly, Hankins is good enough to cause some problems for the Rams shaky Wells/Joseph combo.
The Giants offense has actually looked pretty good lately, even if it has mostly been Eli-to-Beckham. I hope the Rams do a better job against the run his week than they did vs Arizona, cuz if the Giants get the run game going Beckham will produce some big plays as a result of Rams having to respect the run.
Anyway, I’m not confident that the Rams win this game, but I never am confident about the Rams winning.

My bet? They haven’t packed it in. That doesn’t guarantee a win, because both the Giants and the Rams are “better than their record the way they’re playing now” kind of teams. But win or lose, my bet is they are into the game and as invested as ever.

Well, in his three games against the Rams
Eli has nine TDs and one INT. (according to a

get to see Andre Williams and Beckham play…Williams wrote poetry and was one of my favorites players in last years draft ..and Beckham is Beckham
this is one of the games to see if we are finally turning the corner or just another losing team that flirts with 8-8/7-9 for a couple of seasons then fads back..just like we did under Linehan
no predictions but one of the biggest games of the season for us…can we win with our current coaches and young talent
