vNovember 24, 2014 at 12:47 pm #12438GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantWe tried, but a certain crew of official who I understand average an unbelieveable 19 penalites called a game took three scores away from us. And then Shaun Hill made bone head play be trying to force a ball over the middle when he didn’t have to when the Rams were poised to win the game.
All it all it was a great day. One big Rams party. LA Rams fans truly represented on Sunday. Jim Thomas who I talked to in person at the game said the Chargers told him they sold 20,000 tickets to Rams fans for the game. Pasadena Star News reported 40% of the fans were Rams fans. Mike Sando said all the TV shots of the game are of Rams fans.
We truly made a statement yesterday. Bring the Rams back home to LA.

November 24, 2014 at 1:39 pm #12451PA RamParticipantYou lucky S.O.B.
Dickerson is my favorite Ram of all time, you know.
I did get an autographed card from him one time–I sent it off and he(or someone) sent it back. Hopefully, he really signed it.
Cool, pic.

November 24, 2014 at 2:36 pm #12452Isiah58ParticipantI sat in the north sideline (the Rams’ sideline) and the ratio of Rams fans to Charger fans were pretty even. I don’t think that was the case on the other side of the field, but it was great watching the game with so many Rams fans. I went to a game in New Orleans a few years ago, and I don’t know if I saw more than a handful of Rams fans the whole day.
As for the game, I really thought that they were going to pull it out at the end. I felt watching the game that the Rams were the better team, but that San Diego had the better QB and the Rams kept getting called for too many critical penalties.
Cowboys, Eagles, 49ers, Seahawks, Chiefs, 49ers, Cardinals, Broncos, Chargers ===> 68-31 with no team less than 7-4. Has any team in NFL history played a 9 game stretch like that? And they played that stretch with two quasi-third string QBs against their opponent’s first string QB. As the youngest team in the league.

November 24, 2014 at 4:11 pm #12456nittany ramModeratorAwesome! I’ve only been to one game where Rams fans out-numbered the opponent’s fans and that was at the original Herdfest – a home game for the Rams. I have to say it’s much more enjoyable to watch a game that way for obvious reasons. It was cool to see there were so many Rams fans at the San Diego game.
November 24, 2014 at 4:44 pm #12458GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantJim Thomas who I met there in the parking lot before the game told us that the Chargers informed him they sold 20,000 tickets to Rams fans for the game. Every where you looked in the stadium there was Rams jerseys. It was estimated the Rams fans were at least 40 percent of crowd of 66,000. that is pretty damn good representation. I was on the north side as well up in the nose bleeds in Section V 8. I was sitting next to a bunch of Rams fans up there as well. We definitely made huge statement as fans yesterday.

I did not think the rams had the better team.
I also did not think the Chargers had the better team.
It looked to me like neither team could really
take control of the game. It looked like one of
those games that either team could win, and whoever
had the ball last would win.I think they are about even at this point.
Course i agree Rivers is better than Hill.
And Rivers had to deal with the Rams pass-rush
and Hill did not.I enjoyed seeing Tavon and Stedman more
involved, btw.w
vNovember 25, 2014 at 8:27 am #12472GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantThere was a lot of good things in this game and you can see that Stedman Bailey and Tavon Austin are finally looking comfortable and becoming a big part of this offense. Still, this was the Rams game to win and that decision to throw that pass without any real pressure on him makes Hill look like an idiot.
This could have been a huge win for the Rams and next week they could have been playing for 500 with 4 games left after that.
Inexcusable is what that interception was and is. Hate to put all the blame on one player for that loss but in this case it is deserved and the goat horns belong to Hill. The more I think about what could have been and it makes me feel sick.

Except there’s a reason Tavon and Bailey are back in the game–Davis couldn’t make those throws. The re-emergence of the Rams receivers is directly related to Hill. Someone posted a stat–the qb in the entire NFL with the fewest percentage of throws outside the hash marks was Davis. He can’t drive the ball so a lot of the throws Hill made to Bailey would never happen.
And Hill alone did not lose that game.
Here are 3 things that lost the game:
* defense fell back on poor tackling, as opposed to the Denver game.
* Mistakes. Rams mistakes led to a blocked punt, a basically unblocked qb sack and strip, 2 TDs called back cause of penalties.
* Hill was solidly effective overall but misread that redzone play. He gets graded down for that because if you’re trailing late in the 4th with a chance to win the qb has to come through. But that doesn’t make him the sole cause of the loss.
Those three things are off the top of my head and without re-watching the game.
Subtract any one of those things and they win even if the other things still happen. For example, subtract #2 and it never gets down to 1 redzone play in the final minute.
That’s my view anyway. So we see this one very differently.
November 25, 2014 at 10:31 am #12479GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI’m sorry but it came down to what it did at the end of the game and the game was the Rams game to win. The only thing the Chargers could hope for is exactly what happened. Hill made an awful decision and it is on his shoulders.
He held the game in his right hand and and he gave it to the Chargers. No excuse.

It was a wonderful day. It was great being with all those Rams fans pour their hearts out for that team.
So sad the officiating was so subpar. We didn’t deserve that. Seems like we always get weird stuff happen to the Rams during these games in San Diego.Hill throwing that INT as we are so close to winning that game was a dagger in the heart. I’m sorry, I understand the point about no player loses a game by himself, but, this time I think fits. He had no excuse for throwing that ball and even he would tell you that. This team is so close to being good that we cannot afford screw ups like that.
Hill actually overcame a good deal of adversity to lead the team to the brink of winning. His passes to Bailey and then the clutch pass to Britt was amazing. Rams deserved a better fate than that damn interception at the end. The Chargers did not deserve to win that game and the Rams did.
I can see this team is finally turning the corner. If they go 9-7 they probably will not make the playoffs but, its all there, it really is. I think Fisher has this team on the right track, we just have to remain patient and stay the course with Fisher.
Again, meeting Dickerson and seeing Ferragamo again, as I have met him many times before was wonderful. Meeting Jim Thomas was great even if I often do not agree with his pro keep the Rams in STL viewpoint. He was very nice and showed a lot of class.
Its getting better folks it really is. And I whether the Rams are in LA, which I believe they will be or where ever, I think good times are ahead for Rams fans.

I agree it was not the sole cause of the loss. At least 2 td’s negated by bogus penalties. I do differ in your view of the wr’s re-emergence . Quick’s injury was a big factor there. Prior to KC Davis was spraying it around everywhere and TA couldn’t get of the line (remember Sherman holding his arm out straight pre-snap and TA still couldn’t make it into the play). In my view the OL implosion and resultant beating Davis took at KC changed Davis so I have pre KC and post KC Davis being different players. Also with the OL continuity and personnel issues we needed TE’s to help in pass pro add to that the Defenses that Davis faced SEA,SF twice AZ and KC were all quite a bit better than Denver or SD.Davis can throw those passes but not when he’s panicked shell shocked to the point where he doesn’t trust his OL enough to set his feet. After KC I don’t know that he will ever get it back. I know I noticed and Savard remarked early how he kept his eye’s downfield in the face of the pass rush reminded him of Warner. I don’t remember any comparisons after KC.
November 26, 2014 at 12:18 pm #12561Isiah58ParticipantI felt after the game if the Chargers had to play the whole game with Kellen Clemmens, would they have won? Would SF had beaten us with Blaine Gabbert? Would Dallas had beaten us with Brandon Weeden? Even the Vikings game, if they had to play with Teddy Bridgewater, would they have won? Playing with your second or third string QB against an opponent’s first string QB is a huge disadvantage. Since week 1, the Rams have been in every game except KC (which was a 10-7 game at the half) playing with their back-up QB, or their back-up back-up QB.
We’ll see how Arizona does the rest of the way, but I predict the Rams will beat them in the dome in December with their backup QB. Any takers? And I like our chances in DC against Colt McCoy in a few weeks. Why? They are back-ups. I know you can’t take PHillip Rivers out of the equation, but I just felt like the Rams were the better team if you take away the quarterback position.

November 26, 2014 at 12:34 pm #12564GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantDespite the mistake Hill made at the end, I also want to point out that Hill actually showed a great deal of leadership in the 4th quarter when he twice led the Rams from 10 points down to be in the game.
I feel good about this team.
