Todd Gurley’s sophomore NFL season isn’t going anything like his offensive rookie of the year campaign. And he doesn’t need to hear about it from disgruntled fantasy owners.
The second-year drop for the Los Angeles Rams back is shocking. He doesn’t have a 100-yard rushing game all season. His longest run is 24 yards, and he has just two 20-yard runs all season. His average is 3.2 yards per carry. Not all of this is his fault – his offensive line is a mess and defenses have no reason to respect the Rams’ passing game – but it’s still a forgettable season for him in every way.
A few months ago Gurley was likely a first-round pick in your fantasy league, and that hasn’t worked out well for the teams that picked him. So after gaining 36 yards from scrimmage and not scoring in a 24-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night, Gurley was hearing from hecklers again on social media. And he wasn’t letting this one go.

ro tip: Even if your fantasy team stinks, it’s probably a bad long-term plan to challenge 226-pound NFL running backs to fights.
How many of these comments do you think Gurley has received this season? And it’s fine to sit on your couch and complain that, I don’t know, Julian Edelman’s final catch on Monday night beat you by .07 points in a playoff game, but it is not OK to tell players on social media that they stink or worse, and it is definitely not cool to challenge them to fights.
Gurley is having a disappointing season, behind a terrible offensive line in a “middle-school offense.” He knows that. He doesn’t need to hear about it from you, angry fantasy owner.
