Jim doesn’t post on the boards anymore, but this is from facebook. I asked Jim if I could post it, and he said “Absolutely. I still look in from time to time.”
Jim Fadler
Today is the one year anniversary of when I called my boss Jeff Basler with the news that I had liver cancer. First thanks for the support and good things you have all sent my way. They told me I was at stage four right off the bat and it was 1-2 years left.
Jim is an old friend, one I have always admired, and through earlier versions of this board and others, a presence in all our lives. He always had a great sensibility and his spirit shows through now in the harder times. We connect on facebook now and then and one of the things that comes through is his wonderful rapport with his 2 sons. Among other things, Jim is a great father.
And he’s a great Rams fan too.
My earnest best wishes to Jim and his friends and family. It’s always inspiring to see someone of quality living a good life, something that always shows through no matter what time or fate throws at them.

He’s measured and thoughtful, with a complete absence of pretence. I still follow him on twitter. He’s just a nice man. I am sending him positive energy.

May 9, 2018 at 12:02 am #86001ZooeyModeratorAh…now, that’s just awful. I’m very sorry to hear that. I’ve always respected Jim, not only because of his valuable football insight, but just because he always came across as a decent man, with integrity and honor. And I hope he continues to make the best of an already magnificent life.

I wish him the best.
May 9, 2018 at 8:50 am #86008jimiramsboyParticipantFirst thanks all of you for everything and not just this thread, thanks for all the fellowship over all the years. I just don’t do the message boards anymore but I still look in from time to time.
Last year I received an autographed football from Robert Woods and the Rams when someone told them about me and it included a really nice personalized note. I have it displayed prominently amongst all my Rams stuff.
My desire was to see them make the playoffs one last time but I am feeling quite a bit more optimistic about my chances now so I really want a Super Bowl victory this year.
Cheers and don’t worry or fret about me its all good and I am at peace with this
Thanks again

I’ve always felt fucking honored to be able to post with you, Jim. You are one of the reasons i love the internet. From a small town in the middle of appalachia, i can find a Jim Fadler out there on the internetz.
…btw, what do you think of the trades and draft picks this year? Anything to say about McVay or Goff? Can they do it again? Will they regress?
Any lingering thoughts on the move from St.Louis?Sincerely,

Well no matter what comes next I got to see the #Rams in person again. Outside of my sons few at the stadium knew what that meant to me
