Usually this all-NFC match-up would be on FOX. But Sam Farmer reported that the FOX wanted the Cowboys/Packers game to play in the Los Angeles market so they “flexed” the Rams game to CBS.

This is another example of how the league is so invested in the Cowboys that they will go to any means to make sure that they seep into as many markets as often as possible. The Packers and Cowboys are popular–I get it. But this seems unfair to other teams as they try to grow in their own markets. Growing up, I saw plenty of Rams games–which was great. It helped me to become a fan from a team on the other coast.

These days the Cowboys are shoved down everyone’s throat no matter how good they are. I rememember during the GSOT years when the Cowboys sucked they still had more Monday night games than the Rams. The league pushes this team and then everyone says well–they are popular–“America’s Team”. The league makes it that way.

All I’m saying is that they should be fair to other teams.

No–a crappy team should not be on television every week. And that includes the Cowboys. But that’s not how it works.

If I were the Rams I’d be a bit upset at this. You’re trying to grow in this market and here comes the mini-Superbowl Cowboys/Packers extravaganza to take away attention. This is their market. They should be on Fox. I get the Eagles every week and I don’t see anyone flexing any huge game against them.

I know, I know. It’s all about money.

    That’s part of the problem.

What do you care? Amish don’t have TVs anyway.

Seriously though, is this the league or the networks behind the push to make sure the Cowboys are seen by as many people as possible every week?

Maybe it’s both, but you wouldn’t think the league would be happy to promote the perception that the only teams that matter are the Cowboys, Packers and Steelers.

Hey if you dont like America’s Team,
maybe you should go somewhere and watch the North Korean League.

That’s a good point. Maybe it is the networks more than the league itself.

Either way–I’m sure Jerry Jones is happy about it.
