Both teams control their destiny. All either team has to do is win out, and they are the #1 seed.

Personally, I am hoping that it’s the Rams who do that.

I seriously have no ambition to see the Rams play in Chicago, or GB, or Philly. Or Seattle, either. Make the run to the SB go through the Rams.

    This is the way.

Being the road team on a Thursday night is never a good thing…unless you’re the Niners coming to LA. These are two great teams, but I am expecting the Seahawks to benefit greatly from being at home on a short week.

Apparently, Seattle opened as a 1.5 favorite, and now the Rams are favored by 1.5.

Probably because of how Seattle barely scraped by Indy.

Anyway. Early line has the Rams winning. I’m a little surprised.

Three more games. What I’m wondering, and i havent seen anyone talk about this — If the Rams and Seahawks are tied, at say, 13-4 (a distinct possibility) — who wins the division? Last year both teams tied, and the Rams got the nod.

Lots of interesting scenarios could come into play. Like, say, what if the last game — Seattle v SF — what if the 49ers have nothing to play for in that game? They might have locked up a wildcard and a win wouldnt really change anything.

Rams: at Seattle, at Atlanta, Home for Cardinals

Seattle: Hosts Rams, At Carolina, At San Francisco

49ers: At Indy, Home for Bears, Home for Seattle.

Btw, if the Seahawks beat the Rams, and the 49ers beat the Seahawks, the 49ers could still get the #1 seed.

    That team is a problem.

Rams TE Tyler Higbee and RT Rob Havenstein are eligible to come off IR this week. Mike LaFleur said Rams coaching staff hasn’t had that conversation re: whether they’ll play vs. Seahawks yet, being that Sean McVay has some family obligations right now

#Rams WR Davante Adams, who left Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury, is considered week-to-week, sources say.

That almost certainly knock him out for TNF, but it is simply an aggravation of what he was previously dealing with, not a new injury.

“…Seattle Seahawks left tackle Charles Cross is dealing with a hamstring issue, but head coach Mike Macdonald said December 15 that it’s “possible” Cross could still play in the team’s short-week matchup on Thursday against the Los Angeles Rams. The game could decide the NFC West..”

The entire segment is on the Rams and Seahawks, but I cued it up to the part about the significance on the standings/seedings.

Seattle has been up and down the last four weeks but has gotten away with it. They barely beat Tennessee, crushed Minnesota and Atlanta, then almost let a 44 year old grandfather coming off 5 years on the couch beat them.

Indy’s defense took away the run (50 yards allowed on 22 carries; 2.3 ypc)
They limited them to 2 of 13 on third down and 0 of 2** in the Red Zone.
And they harassed Darnold though they only sacked him once.

**Just 2 trips to the RZ!!!!

Darnold. Category: The 9 games before the Rams / The 4 games after the Rams.

    Completion Percentage: 71.1% / 61.0%
    Completions/Attempts: 18 of 25/ 18 of 29
    TD passes: 17 / 5
    Interceptions: 6 / 1
    Fumbles lost: 4 / 1
    Yards per game: 251.3 / 223.0
    QB rating: 116.5 / 95.0
    Sacked: 10 / 8
    Points per game: 30.6 / 27.8

He’s now getting sacked twice a game, where previously it was 1.1. He’s completing 10% less of his passes. He’s averaging 28 less passing yards per game. His QB rating has dropped (21.5). On the plus side, he’s not turning the ball over as much. Seattle is scoring 3 points less per game but keep in mind, their opponents have been extremely weak (Tennessee, Minnesota, Atlanta and Indianapolis).

Rams-Seahawks is the first Thursday Night Football game *ever* between two teams with 11+ wins.

That makes it sound like this game is a big deal.

    Whatever.

At least OUR head coach has his priorities straight. First, win the game. Then have a kid.

I don’t know what to make of that. Their last 3 games are
    26-0 over MIN
    37-9 over ATL
    18-16 over IND

And they have won 8 of their last 9 games.

The Rams and Seahawks have split the all-time series 28-28. They’ve each scored 1,185 points in their 56 meetings, too.

I guess that makes this a kind of big game then, huh?

So, what do we expect out of Sam Darnold?
Will the Seattle plan be dink and dunk and avoid INTs, or will it be let-it-rip against this rams secondary and try and get some big plays?

    That’s a shame.

I would prefer to face them at full strength.
