    Bengals in big trouble

Even with Cincinnati playing in the best division in football, this one is false — at least for now. What could make that statement true? Joe Burrow’s calf tweak ultimately being a serious issue. We don’t have much information on that front, with head coach Zac Taylor lacking much information when asked about Burrow’s potential availability for this week. But if Burrow’s OK, this team is loaded, battle-tested and experienced at playing catch-up.

Yes, the Bengals are 0-2. It’s almost tradition under Taylor, whose Cincy teams have started out 0-2 in four of his five seasons at the helm. After last year’s 0-2 start, the Bengals won 14 of their next 16 games to hit Championship Sunday — and fell just short of punching a ticket to the Super Bowl. Frankly, I thought Sunday’s 27-24 loss to Baltimore was more of a testament to the Ravens than an indictment on the Bengals. Lamar Jackson was great in that game, and John Harbaugh’s team is always so tough.

Going forward, it’s not hard to imagine Cincinnati making a run in its next four games before the Week 7 bye:

With that in mind, “big trouble” feels like a big stretch, given the immense talent on this roster. But admittedly, it’s all about Burrow’s health.

What. The. F.  are those things?

I should be the NFL Uniform Czar.   I’d fix all this shit in about one day.

Every team goes back to 70’s-80’s Uniforms and maybe,

    one week of leather helmets.

In that white uniform Burrow looks like he should be performing for Siegfried and Roy.

Zooey, those MLB city connect unis are ugly for most teams… The SF Giants versions sucks almost as bad as SDs…. but The Giants are 21-8 when they wear those butt ugly uniforms….  Mariners and Pittsburgh have nice looking City Connect uniforms…. The Dodgers played it safe and look like their old Vero Beach unis.

Regarding the Bengals… who do you think Andrew Whitworth will be rooting for?

Rams by 17 on Monday Night.

    #32 in offensive points scored

What in the world is ‘that’?   Is that the Padres?

Ok, somebody actually thought of that.  And designed it.  And got it approved.  And they marketed it.    And i guess there were focus groups, and surveys and profit-algebra that preceded those decisions.

So who is that aimed at?   LGBT folks?   Teens?   Color-blind people?

I dunno.   What do i know.   I’m an old-school-curmudgeon, so i should just shut up.

It’s mind-boggling. And on TV, you can’t make out the last names on the back of the jersey. Yellow on white. Truly bad.

And the split San Diego on front. Awful.

I had a Padres fan jump on me for criticizing them on Twitter, and they said that the San Diego represents the sunset on the ocean.

And I’m…”If that’s what the sky and ocean look like in San Diego, ya’ll got issues.”

    Get that mess outta here.

    So…anyways…how ’bout them Bengals?

I hope Burrow plays on a bad leg.

    Poor San Diego.
They got the short end of the stick when it comes to professional sports team owners.

Spanos was too cheap to build his own stadium so he left SD behind to be a renter in LA.

Now Seidler approves the uniforms from pastel hell.  Those colors wouldn’t even work in Miami.

At least SD went back to their UPS brown and yellow uniforms as their standard.  I like those….

BTW California Angels should go back to the Bobby Grich navy blues and dump the red and white.

BENGALS FAN: I’m going over to check out the Rams board. I bet those guys are talking all kinds of smack about the Bengals!

RAMS FANS: San Diego sports teams sure do suck, man. And they’re ugly.

i’m hoping the rams just blow the bengals out of the water.  seahawks and especially the niners were tougher tests.  but the bengals are reeling.  so anything other than a complete blowout will dent my confidence.

Forgive me if this topic has previously been discussed,  but one thing that just dawned on me – not sure why it took this long – is that the Rams follow up this MNF road trip with an away game in Indianapolis. I don’t care how weak the opponents may or may not be, that’s a tough test in the NFL.

I agree that this would be for the best, all things considered.

with indianapolis not being that far away from cincinnati would it just be better for the rams to stay close and not travel back to los angeles that week?
