Blockbuster: After weeks of negotiations, in one of the largest trades in NFL history, the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos have agreed to terms for a deal involving Super-Bowl winning QB Russell Wilson, sources tell ESPN.

Okay, then.

Rams play all 4 of them next season.
Poor Russell Wilson. He wanted out of Seattle so he wouldn’t have to face Aaron Donald anymore.

Fandom is easier when ya got a great QB.
The last time the Rams had a great QB, he mangled his thumb, and we only got, what, 3 full healthy-kurt-years.
Let us hope Stafford gives us 5 more years.
So much fun having a stone-cold-gunslinger.

March 8, 2022 at 5:19 pm #137365joemadParticipantRams traded:
Goff + 2 first round picks + third rounder = Stafford
(1 player + 3 picks for Stafford)
Denver traded:
a starting DT Shelby Harris + TE Noah Font + starting QB Drew Lock + 2 first rounders + 2 second rounders + 1 fifth rounder = Russell Wilson
(3 players + 5 picks for Wilson)

March 8, 2022 at 9:51 pm #137373znModeratorReport: Seahawks releasing 8-time All-Pro LB Bobby Wagner

Adam Schefter@AdamSchefterSeahawks informed eight-time All-Pro and Pro-Bowl LB Bobby Wagner, a franchise icon, that they are releasing him, per source. Wagner arrived in Seattle on the same 2012 day as Russell Wilson and now leaves the same day, too. End of an era in Seattle.March 8, 2022 at 11:21 pm #137376znModeratorWith the departures of Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner, the Seahawks will have 0 players remaining that played in their Super Bowl win. pic.twitter.com/ErMTyDzcGy

March 9, 2022 at 12:10 am #137380znModeratorWhy would the Seahawks agree to move Russell Wilson?
“The Seahawks didn't just move on from Wilson — he moved on from them as well. This is a divorce in the sense that both parties decided they have irreconcilable differences,” writes @MikeDugar.https://t.co/v90Taqm96U pic.twitter.com/TpEz3co1Yx

You mean, the Broncos are getting, Russell Wilson & a 4th round pick, in this draft.
March 10, 2022 at 8:46 am #137416znModeratorAccording to Ian Rapoport, Bobby Wagner is already drawing interest from 3 teams he faced twice a year while with the Seahawks 👀 https://t.co/7yjRXCwjR3

March 10, 2022 at 10:24 am #137419ZooeyModeratorI’m sure they are all kicking the tires on Wagner, but he doesn’t make sense for either the Rams or the 9ers, imo. The Rams apparently don’t really need ILB, because they’ve been doing fine without a really good one in that position since…I don’t even know. They’re fine with Jones, and he’s a fraction of the cost.
The 49ers, meanwhile, have to sign Nick Bosa, and as Khalil Mack a few years ago, Bosa is going to be a guy who will give AD a run for highest paid defensive player in the league. And Deebo Samuel is eligible for a contract extension right now (3 years), and you have to think that guy is due for some $ right now, probably in the neighborhood of $20/year.
I hasten to add I’m no cap guy, and even if I was, I have no idea what the 49ers situation is, but that doesn’t look to me like a likely destination. Assuming Garappolo is traded, that will free up some $, though.
I believe the Chargers have cap space, and if Wagner is going “home” to LA, that probably makes some sense. The Chargers need him, and they need stars because nobody even knows they play in LA (except San Diego).

This would have been the fourth year of a four-year, $44 million deal that had a $1 million roster bonus due next week. One more free-agent guard.

March 11, 2022 at 1:17 am #137443JackPMillerParticipantThe Rams liked Bobby Wagner in the 2012 draft, but Les Snead got cute and traded down, only for the Seahawks to take him two picks later.
The Rams now have a chance to add him, and they should https://t.co/EuPedisbBt

March 11, 2022 at 8:57 pm #137463ZooeyModeratorCory Littleton was released by the Raiders and it would make sense for the Rams to bring him back to address their need at ILB. https://t.co/J8Gapj5w4y

Hey z do me a favor so this issue doesn’t get lost in a dedicated thread about Seattle. Start a new thread that’s about free agents that might interest the Rams, starting with that post.
If you can do that, I will reduce your posting fees this month by a solid 2%.
Deal?

You know I can get 4% on any other board, right?
