What will happen
October 4, 2017 at 3:30 pm #75514ZooeyModeratorThe Rams win the trenches, so the Rams win the game.
Probably close. 6 points.
October 4, 2017 at 4:55 pm #75516wvParticipantI think they should play Fisher-ball in this one.
Or somethin. I dunno.
I just hope the young rams are motivated and come out storming and ready. One would hope they are not fat-headed yet, with all the media hoopla.
This is the first time Seattle has faced a ram offense that was truly dangerous,
in a LONG time.Pete Carroll vs McV — let the series begin.
Rams 24
Hawks 21w

Sea 10If there’s one team that knows how to beat Wilson, it’s the Rams. He’s just 5-5 against Los Angeles (and St. Louis) in his career with 12 touchdowns and seven interceptions. His passer rating is a very respectable 95.2, but there’s one stat that stands out when he plays the Rams.
In his career, Wilson has been sacked by the Rams 39 times – more than any other team. That’s eight more times than the 49ers have sacked him, which is the second most of any team.

Rams are 4th in sack percentage. They are 4th in sacks too. This is interesting because they are 27th in passes against. Teams do not pass on the Rams. That’s because they are 5th in running attempts against, and 4th in yards per attempt allowed (with 4.9).
Seattle is 12th in rushing attempts and 11th in yards per attempt (with 4.4). That leaves them with Rawls and Lacy but Wilson also helps their rushing offense.
So to eyeball the obvious here, Rams have to stop the run to win.
Seattle is also 14th on defense, 10th in points allowed, 4th against the pass, BUT 27th against the run. They are 19th in sack percentage and 22nd in sacks.
Dallas was 10th on defense before the Rams game (now they’re 18th, heh heh). Washington was 11th. So we know the caliber of the Seattle defense but this year they don’t rank much better than 2 teams the Rams have already played (and they went 1-1 against them).
The Rams have won 3 of their last 4 games against Seattle but their wins were all close at the end, including one in overtime. In fact you can probably all think of dramatic defensive stops that won some of those games in the last minute. In their 3 wins the Rams point differential advantage was 66-51 or on avg. 5 points a game.

October 5, 2017 at 9:43 am #75557ZooeyModeratorI don’t think the history between these teams matters. The Rams are not the same team. Different coaches, different systems, and “overhaul” would be a mild term for the Rams on offense. It may be that Fisher just had Carroll’s number on defense.
The biggest question in this game to me is “what Rams’ defense shows up?”
October 5, 2017 at 9:53 am #75560wvParticipantIs this game like the 49er game in 99? Ya know. A real test.
If the Rams win, they are ‘for real’ etc…?

vOctober 5, 2017 at 10:08 am #75562JackPMillerParticipantNot sure what idea. What to expect, since Cliff Avril is out of this game, I believe we will try and contain Michael Bennett. We need to pressure Russell Wilson, since the Seahawks OLine is real bad. The Seahawks secondary seems like they may be aging a little bit, so our speed at WR may have a chance against them. Since we are at home, but it is a divisional opponent that knows us well, I’m going Rams 33-Seahawks 20.

On offense, Gurley. And I’ll out on a limb and predict the tight ends have a huge day.
Rams 31-21.

Kinda seems that way, dont it.
Is it the game that will reflect a major, surprising power-change in the NFC West? Will Gurley score four TDs and bury his head in a towel on the sidelines and weep?
Will the beatdown the Rams put on the Seahawks be so humiliating that Pete Carroll pees his pants, and refuses to coach another game?w
vOctober 6, 2017 at 1:00 pm #75615PA RamParticipantGoff will have to have his best game of the year, in my opinion. Seahawks will go all out to stop Gurley. I think they will MAKE Goff beat them through the air–and that’s no small feat. Seattle covers very well and Goff’s throws will have to be spot on because I don’t think the receivers will be wide open too many times.
That said, the Rams have the receivers to do good things against this defense.
Still, if the Rams score 35 points in this one I will go all-in on them having one of the best offenses in the league.
It’s always a heated battle so I expect a tough divisional slugfest.
If they CAN’T stop Gurley they have NO chance.
The defense still makes me cringe so I have no idea what to expect. But it may be up to them to decide who wins this one.
Rams are a 1 point favorite at home, the last I checked so that’s pretty much even.
I expect a close game and a key play here or there will decide it.
I’m not making a prediction this week. I honestly have no clue or feel about it. I’ll be interested in seeing how it goes.

October 6, 2017 at 3:05 pm #75623canadaramParticipantDespite the Rams good start to 2017, I still think that Seattle is the more talented of these two teams. So I expect the Seahawks to win this game. Goff and the Rams receiving corps has not faced a secondary like this yet this season. If Goff throws for more than 200 yards I’ll be surprised. Similarly, I think it will be tough sledding for Gurley on the ground.
The Rams best hope is for Seattle’s offense to lay an egg. I’m not holding my breath though. I expect Wilson to inflict some damage with his legs and I expect Baldwin and Graham to give the Rams D problems as well.
I expected the Cowboys to win big last week so take it all with a grain of salt.
October 6, 2017 at 11:04 pm #75647InvaderRamModeratorif dallas was the rams’ collective first big test, this is jared’s first big individual test.
perform well against seattle, and jared takes a big step toward being recognized as a legitimate franchise qb.
damn i’m getting nervous. just me personally i know what i see, and it looks real. but i feel like i need to see it for three more games before i can really believe it.

Against Seattle would be a good time to change that.

vLOL! I don’t know about any of that.
I’m guessing the Rams come out with a lot of shots downfield. Including the play-action Tavon end-arounds/jet sweeps. Sometimes double play-action, first Tavon, then to Gurley. IF the O-line gives Goff time to do that.
This D is horrible, sometimes. They seem to only perform well when the pass rush is clicking. They give up too many big plays. Tree looks lost, a lot. Too many holes in the Run D.
I have no idea how this game will go. My “feeling” is the Rams come out and start firing downfield.
Wilson scares the crap out of me. No QB is better at making something out of nothing.
I guess it’s a nail-biter game. The Rams could easily be 1-3 right now. They’re right on the cusp of being a playoff caliber team, but they’re also on the cusp of sucking. LOL!
October 8, 2017 at 11:50 am #75721znModeratorRight now I feel like this game could go either way, but Carroll is a crafty defensive coach and Wilson is resourceful, so I don’t expect a Rams blowout win.
Most Rams have beaten Seattle by in the last 5 years was 6 points.
