Rams at home play Dallas, Denver, & Buffalo. Away games, they play Tampa, Green Bay, & Kansas City.
May 6, 2022 at 1:55 pm #138785znModeratorCompared to prior seasons, this doesnât look too bad for the Rams. https://t.co/XpGbpzlLSt

May 6, 2022 at 3:10 pm #138787ZooeyModeratorSo the Rams are gonna start the season.
Which team will the NFL select to be their opponent to start the year?
My guess is that it will be the Cowboys.
The Bills would make a lot of sense, too. Possible Super Bowl preview kind of thing.

F*ck. F*ck. F*ck. F*ck. F*ck.
I knew it.
As soon as I saw the headline that the NFL was scheduling games on Christmas, I knew that the Rams would be selected to play.
This is not going to go well in my house. My wife HATES sports on Christmas. Kickoff better be very late, or I’m not watching this until the replay becomes available.
And she has a point. Christmas Day? Really? It’s like drilling for natural gas in Yellowstone. Can we just…not?

The silver lining is that Christmas falls on a Sunday this time. It would be far worse if it were a short-week scenario. Now, it’s just like a normal week’s home-game, celebrating the Winter Solstice a coupla days later, cuz once, centuries ago, UPS, made a late delivery in Rome, or maybe Antioch, or was it Ephesus?, and that just screwed up the entire calendar for everyone else.
(I think folks on the West Coast get this one at 1:30pm)

Rams get the Broncos on Christmas plus 12 other games against teams that finished above .500 in 2021. Rams have the toughest, as of now, @NFL strength-of schedule in 2022..
May 11, 2022 at 12:41 am #138834znModeratorI don’t know if they can repeat in 2022 with that schedule.
May 11, 2022 at 12:00 pm #138842wvParticipantWell…’on paper,’ at this point, that is the toughest run of opponents
i can ‘ever’ remember.  Ever.
We must, once again, pray for crippling injuries.

May 11, 2022 at 12:38 pm #138843nittany ramModeratorScrew the 72 Dolphins and 85 Bears. Â If the Rams repeat after going through that meat grinder then they are the greatest team of all time.
May 11, 2022 at 8:34 pm #138849wvParticipantYou know there ‘is’ something to be said for being ‘battle tested.’
I do believe that.  Dallas and Green Bay have cake schedules/divisions
(it looks like).  That may not serve them well come playoff time.
A cake schedule gets you ‘into’ the playoffs and gets you a good ranking, maybe even a bye — but there’s a down side.   Looked to me like the Packers were not ready for the physicality of the 49ers last year. The Rams were.

17-0, baby.
Me and Old Hacker are the only 2 Rams fans left, I guess.

Rams Brothers@RamsBrothersSo, the Rams have:⢠2 Thursday Night games⢠2 Monday Night games⢠1 Sunday Night gameSeems odd. Not to mention, their stretch of SF, TB, AZ, NO, KC, SEA after the bye feature precisely ZERO prime time slots. Makes no sense.May 12, 2022 at 10:07 pm #138864JackPMillerParticipantInteresting. Three of our last five games, are against the AFC West. We got Seattle twice in the last six.
May 12, 2022 at 10:27 pm #138865znModeratorWeek 14 â Rams vs Las Vegas Raiders (TNF), December 8
Week 15 â Rams at Green Bay Packers (MNF), December 19
Week 16 â Rams vs Denver Broncos (Christmas Day), December 25
Week 17 â Rams at LA Chargers (SNF), January 1
Look at that stretch. Thursday night, followed by Monday night, followed by Christmas day, followed by Sunday night.
Including Packers in Wisconsin in December. And 2 more tough games–Denver and the Chargers.
May 13, 2022 at 6:59 am #138874wvParticipantIts Kafka-esque. Ungodly.
I dont know that I’ve ever seen anything like that.
Its so horrible its funny.  Is there a word for that? When something is so horrible it becomes funny?

May 13, 2022 at 7:17 am #138875Billy_TParticipantThat is a really, really tough schedule. It’s also too bad that Game Two isn’t against one of their toughest opponents, instead of the rebuilding Falcons. Starting the year with that Thursday game is potentially beneficial with the longer week for the next one, obviously. It would have been a great time for an away game against Green Bay, with the twofer of much better weather that time of year. If not Green Bay, I’d take @KC, or @Tampa, or @SF.
Btw, any of youze guys doing Directv for all the games? What are your alternatives if you’re not going that route?
Looks like I’ll just rely on regular TV venues. May try for a strategically placed “free week” of NFL Gamepass, or very late price reductions when they happen. But my days with Directv are long gone now. Used to get the Sunday Ticket “free,” after annoying negotiations, but then AT&T bought it out, and that became tougher and tougher to swing until I finally just gave up and went with another TV provider. If memory serves, this is Directv’s last year with the Sunday Ticket. I hope the NFL wises up and offers several choices/tiers, with several media outlets, and includes the option to just get all the games from our team of choice.
Oh, well . . .
May 13, 2022 at 11:45 am #138880ZooeyModeratorNine games at home, 8 away.
One of the “away” games is the Chargers. So 10 of their games are in SoFi, and only 7 are truly road games.
Only one of those away games is in the Eastern time zone.

Do you generally get the Rams on TV when it’s “regional” action? This year, us “nomads” should have a nice selection of national games. But those of us on the East Coast tend not to get the regional stuff very often.
As for the home and away. I still can’t get with the 17 games. Seems positively sacrilegious to me. But I thought that when they moved to 16 games too. I’d be happier with it back at 14. But odd numbers? Makes no sense in the home/away calculations, obviously.

We get a few games here. I am in 49er territory, so they take precedence. I get the Rams when they kickoff in a time slot that is not in conflict with the 49ers and/or Raiders depending on which network has the game. If the Rams play at a time/network not in conflict with either of those teams, I get them most of the time.
Otherwise, I watch online.
