canadaramParticipantInteresting. I haven’t read any articles about this. IIRC, the Rams organization didn’t score well on their player report cards the last couple of years. I’m too lazy to confirm that though. I wonder if this is a move to start fixing things in that regard.

I guess it is possible that I’m thinking about this like a tourist and not an NFL player. Perhaps this is just another minicamp to them and the extra travel will just be any annoyance.

I had the same thought. It seems like a perk.
As regards to the player report cards, though, I think SOME of that is due to the inferior facilities they’ve had where they’ve trained (community colleges) and so on.

Yeah. Having watched nothing but those highlights, it’s evident that his “superpower” is sudden short area quickness/slash/abrupt open field acceleration.

The last running back to play for an NFL team for eight years was Giovani Bernard with Bengals .The last one to play for 10yrs with one team was Frank Gore. NFL RB’s don’t stay with teams long these days.May 8, 2025 at 5:39 pm #156360

40 time was only 4.50.
but his short shuttle was 4.09 and his 3-cone was 6.73.
so yeah. he’s got short area quickness to spare.

znModeratorfrom https://www.turfshowtimes.com/2025/5/9/24426938/rams-depth-chart-offseason-needs-wide-receiver
ESPN’s Aaron Schatz looked at what he considers the biggest hole on each roster following the draft. As Schatz noted, “At this point in the offseason, a roster hole does not necessarily mean the position group has no clear starters. Most teams have filled the top of their depth charts. But plenty of units have limited depth.” That position group for the Rams according to Schatz is wide receiver. Said Schatz,
“Davante Adams was a huge addition, but the departures of Cooper Kupp and Demarcus Robinson produced a net loss of one starting wide receiver. Tutu Atwell is now the No. 3 option. He had a solid 2024 with 11.7% receiving DVOA to go with 42 catches for 562 yards, but he’s not regarded as a starting option around the league. And the depth behind him is poor. Jordan Whittington had 22 catches for 293 yards as a sixth-round rookie in 2024, but Xavier Smith had only two catches for 6 yards. The Rams didn’t draft a receiver until selecting Konata Mumpfield in Round 7. Los Angeles might not need a No. 3 receiver that often, though, as drafting Terrance Ferguson in Round 2 indicates more two-TE personnel groupings.”

amari cooper and keenan allen are both available. are they fits? are they even affordable? and isn’t cornerback supposed to be thin too?

I think receiver is deeper than it was last year. Last year they had Nacua, a diminished Kupp, Robinson, and Atwell. Whittington did a little bit as a rookie. This year they have Nacua, Adams replacing a diminished Kupp, Atwell, and a more experienced Whittingon. Adams also, at the same time, makes up for losing Robinson.

i do wonder though if they have another card to pull. like when they signed obj. which was fortunate especially when woods went down.

You’re counting Adams twice there, so that’s two minutes in the penalty box. You also left out the increased receiving threat posed by Ferguson which isn’t so much a penalty as it is negligence, and for that I’m sending you back to the minors for a bit.

I can defend counting Adams twice. He is more Robinson than Robinson in terms of how he plays, and Kupp was diminished last year but now Nacua can take his role. It really is 1 for 2 in this case.
In this current moment in history, I find it’s important and useful to blame you for the fact that I neglected Ferguson.

vWhat NFL team does Hawaii root for? Most Hawaiians support the Los Angeles Rams, likely because of their proximity and the fact that many games are broadcast on Hawaii’s local channels. The San Fransisco 49ers are also a popular team in Hawaii, but the addition of Puka Nacua to the Rams might play a role in the fandom
