Sean McVay said it’s “looking optimistic” for DL Sebastian Joseph-Day and RB Darrell Henderson Jr. in their return from injuries.

“We’re trying to win a Super Bowl for Robert Woods, too.” – Aaron Donald

Don’t think the Rams will, but I think it’s important not to underestimate this Bengals team. They matchup a lot better with the Rams than some fans are giving them credit for. Cincinnati deserves to be where they’re at.

    Cornell@gqscholar
Most of the media is gushing over Burrow and the Bengals. It’s not like the rams are hearing/reading how great they are. Vegas has Rams as the favorite but most media and fans disagree. 65 percent of the bets and most in the media has the Bengals.

    Blaine Grisak@bgrisakDTR
There seems to be a narrative that the Rams can’t run the ball. 3 of last 4 teams they played were SFx2 and TB. Those are two of toughest run D’s in the NFL. Michel ranked 3rd in rushing yards from Week 13-17. Michel + Akers had 113 against AZ in divisional round.

Key to this game is up front where the Rams should win the battle. However, with a bad offensive line, don’t be surprised to see Bengals rely on quick passing game. Burrow’s average time to throw this season with 2.69 seconds. That was the 10th-fastest in the NFL.

    Sosa Kremenjas@QBsMVP
Matthew Stafford is 315 passing yards away from having the most passing yards in a single postseason in NFL history.

For the first time ever in his career, Matthew Stafford is practicing on his Birthday.
    Danny Heifetz@Danny_Heifetz
Joe Burrow says when he was rehabbing his ACL in L.A., he didn’t know many people so Rams LT Andrew Whitworth took him under his wing (both were rehabbing). They watched games together on Sundays. Burrow spent his birthday at Whitworth’s house.
    Battlelyon #Rams4Life@BobbyBattlelyon
Rams are going to need Cam and Sony to have big games. Expect the Bengals to rush 3, Stafford is at his best being rushed, he is below average versus a 3 man rush. McVay needs to be patient calling the run, stick to it, and Stafford needs to be patient and not force anything.
    Hayden Winks@HaydenWinks
Stafford is 1st (by a ton) in success rate versus blitzes and 24th versus 3 or fewer pass rushers. Expecting a very soft coverage game plan from Cincy again, similar to last week. Where Patrick Mahomes ranked against 3 or fewer pass rushers out of 33 QB qualifiers going into last week per @football_sis:
    + Most dropbacks (by a ton) + 25th in total EPA (-8.6) + 25th in success rate (39%) + 32nd in pressure rate (39%)
An elite game plan by Cincy.
    Greg Beacham@gregbeacham
Aaron Donald said he still talks all the time to former St Louis Rams defensive line coach Mike Waufle. In fact, they spoke for about 30 minutes earlier today. AD calls him “the greatest defensive line coach of all time.”

Just great. Stafford just got another year older right before the Super Bowl.

this worries me.  could this be another game where stafford has a handful of turnovers?  that’s the only thing i see derailing the rams.  maybe this is a time to pound the ball in the running game?

Bengals are 8-1 this season when Joe Burrow has a passer rating of 110+. Rams allowed an average passer-rating of 83.6 this season which was the 5th best in the NFL. They’ve allowed a passer rating of 110+ twice this season (vs. ARI, @ SF) – 0 times since Week 10.

I just have a feeling about Joe Burrow and the Bengals.

    Daniel Oyefusi@DanielOyefusi
I asked Rams coach Sean McVay about new Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel, whom he coached alongside in Washington. “I just think the world of Mike McDaniel,” McVay said.

    Stop the presses {yawn}.

Skip Bayless hates the Rams more than he hates the Commanders. That’s unnatural for a Cowboys fan. There has to be an Inciting Incident, and I’d like to know what it is.

Well, he does indeed hate the Rams, but it might just be media-schtick

with Shannon Sharpe.  Cuz Shannon always takes the Rams’ side.

    Ya know.

Bayless calls McVay ‘mc-yay’ ever since McVay ran down the sideline

to congratulate desean jackson on the long td pass.

I think it’s because McVay is 3-1 vs the Cowboys and 3-0 against his favorite player (Tom Brady) since he became a Buccaneer.

don’t fall for it, sean.  i think this defense might match up well against the rams offense.  they sat back against mahomes and mahomes couldn’t crack the code.  i think they take the same approach with matt.

just pound the ball.  don’t worry about records.

very cool… Rams wore home blues on the road in old riverfront stadium.. home of the Big Red Machine….. note the turf patches on the dirt infield squares around the bases…. very common in the 70’s for teams that shared baseball stadiums on turf…..
