I was skimming that passing-yards chart and, of course, Brady is on top by a mile.   His career was just astounding.   But if you look at the names on that list — Marino, Elway, Rogers, Manning, etc — It never ‘seems’ like Brady was the ‘most talented.’

But Brady’s talent was inside his head.  I guess.  Its the only explanation that makes sense.   He ‘processed’ things quickly, accurately.   Better than the rest.

So, anyway, i kinda look at Kyron Williams that way.  He’s like Brady.  Hes not got elite-level ‘measurables’ like many star RBs.   But he does something ‘inside his head’ better than the rest of em.   I think.  I dunno.

this is not exactly a controversial statement i’m about to make here. and i’m sure it’s been said on the board here before, but i’m gonna say it again. and i’ll probably say it again in the future. kyren is the rams most important addition to this offense since matthew stafford himself. i know nacua gets more accolades and maybe he even has a better overall career than kyren when it’s all over, but williams not only makes this offense harder to defend, but my feeling is that he will extend stafford’s career by at least another couple years if kyren can stay healthy. by far the best running back stafford has ever had the pleasure of playing with. already. and yeah. his ability to process things quickly is his strength. in a way that makes me like him more than gurley who relied more on his physical abilities which were otherworldly.

to leapfrog jackson he has quite a ways to go. and there’s no way to predict that at the moment. but it’ll be fun to watch how he progresses.

Yards per game would be an interesting stat for those top QBs. Brady, as great as he was, had a huge advantage in any race for total career stats. He played so long, obviously. He gets major props for that, and for maximizing he naturals to the hilt, but I think a per game stat tells us a lot about which QB really played lights out, relative to all the rest of ’em.

Agree with the “inside his head” comments on Brady and Williams. But I wonder about Rams MVPs right now. I don’t think the Rams have a shot at the Wildcard without both Puka and Kyren. They need both of them to remake this offense.

Most yards or sacks or tackles or catches per game impresses me. Kinda like total career points in the NBA. LeBron recently passed Jabbar, and both players were/are amazing. But per game stuff impresses me the most, and when it comes to scorers, combine that with shooting percentages. If he has the most points per game, and shoots the best percentage, he goes to Olympus for me. With running backs and receivers, it’s most yards per game and highest average per carry and catch, etc. Getting even more into the weeds, yards after contact/catch, etc.

Stats will drive ya crazy . . .

Yes, and its just really good team-building by Mc/Snead.   They did a lot of things right.   Added lots of puzzle pieces and achieved a synergy of sorts.

I mean, McV self-evaluated and apparently, saw the need for a more physical run component.

Then Snead drafted the big Guard and added the vet from the Steelers, etc.

And they added Nacua partly because he’s physical and willing to block.

And of course that shift helps Stafford stay healthy and feel confident and stay in third and short situations, etc, etc.

So, yeah, i agree about KW but its also kinda hard to separate the puzzle pieces and see them separately.    Its just a really cool ‘whole’ that they all put together this year.  And what makes a lot of us kinda smile, is – there’s no OBJ, no Vonn Miller, no Jalen Ramsey, etc.   Its kinda fun to see a group come together like this.

Course if they lose to the Giants, they are bums and the offensive coordinator should be fired.
