Rams OL per TruMedia: 13 pressures, five sacks and only a 16.7% blitz rate as noted in the column. Eagles knew how much attention Carter would demand vs Limmer + guard combo and other guys won one-on-one matchups on the back side of those double teams. Rushing just four meant erasing route layers.

Third down has been an issue for the Rams all season, but yesterday was stark: 0 for 8, with an average to-go distance of 9.4 yards.

Getting that number down through better execution on 1st and 2nd downs, especially in the run game, should be a focus.

Pressures allowed by the Rams last night (per @PFF):

    Kyren Williams – 4
    Warren McClendon – 3
    Steve Avila – 3
    Beaux Limmer – 2
    Alaric Jackson – 2

    Kevin Dotson – 0

    Sosa Kremenjas@QBsMVP
Kyren Williams ranks among RBs this season (min. 100 snaps, per @PFF):

2.67 yards after contact per attempt (4th-worst)
    32 missed tackles forced (14th)
    4.0 YPC (24th)
    15 runs of 10+ yards (16th)
    11.2% breakaway percentage (28th)

These are all *really* bad outside of MTF.

Joshua Karty misses the 47-yarder wide right. Seems like he’s lost all confidence. Missed a 26-yarder last week, too.

The Rams drilled their first two draft picks—Jared Verse is an absolute monster, and Braden Fiske seems to make a play every week.

    Rams Tapes@RamsTapes
Braden Fiske has surpassed Byron Young (2023), Aaron Donald (2014), and Robert Quinn (2011) for the most sacks by a Rams player through their first 11 career games

They were overmatched player to player, but the counters and adjustments + the relatively simple yet very effective way the pressure was schemed is a trademark of the battle within the battle here and McVay knows it. They were totally throttled by a couple adjustments after one promising drive. Rich history here as you know that I personally don’t feel is overplayed in knowing the characters involved, but obviously [it was] a pure ass kicking by simply a better, more physical team.

    Protection issues were absolutely critical!

I’m not saying the DC and the DC alone was the game changer I’m just pointing out a very mentally significant layer to this that adds to the sting of an ass kicking and hopefully [a reminder] that you can do whatever to try to beat the top teams schematically but if you can’t protect QB or stop the run you have nothing.

Eagles gained 120 yards rushing against stacked boxes
about the same against light boxes

    disaster

First and foremost, not having Donald is huge.

In my opinion it’s mostly mistakes. On some plays one error by one guy can be a disaster.

All I really know is they are *trying* to stop the run but using heavier boxes, i.e. having a safety in the box, but there have been mistakes

WR Cooper Kupp (@CooperKupp) is one of four players with one or fewer drops on 75-or-more targets this season (Amon-Ra St. Brown, Trey McBride and Jakobi Meyers).

Kyren Williams ranks second in rushing attempts leading to a 1st down. Only behind Derek Henry and leading Saquon Barkley.

While Kyren Williams does indeed have a fumble problem, he’s still very productive ranking 6th amongst RBs in rushing yards for the season and 8th in TDs.

Rams kicker Joshua Karty has missed 5 FGs this season. Notice a trend with these kicks? Three of them came from the left hash. Context for his misses:

    – One bad hold (@ CHI)
    – One bad miss (vs. LVR)
    – THREE misses from the left hash (vs. MIA, @ NE, vs. PHI)
