The Darious Williams revenge game
After the 2021 season, Darious Williams left the Rams for the Jaguars. Williams got his pay day and then had four interceptions in 2023. The Rams brought him back last season as a familiar face in the cornerback room. He started the season on the bench, but has played well over the last two weeks. Williams arguably had his best game of the season against his former team. While he had a penalty, he also had four pass breakups and was credited with one dropped interception. However, he probably could have had two interceptions. This was the type of performance that the Rams have needed out of their cornerback room.

znModeratorKam Kinchens was, as fans in London might chant, ‘he was here, he was there, he was every freaking-where.’ The second-year safety was all over the field on Sunday. Quentin Lake had his first sack of the season and also had a pass breakup on a third down. Lake has been making plays on a near-weekly basis.

Lake is arguably our best inside cover man and his versatility as a DB is so valuable

The Rams’ offense has gotten a lot of praise for yesterday’s performance, but the defense was just as impactful, especially on late downs.Jacksonville went a combined 5-for-21 on 3rd and 4th downs, which totaled an EPA of -15.4.

znModeratorChris Shula is officially leading the number one defense in the NFL and it isn't being talked about…at all.
This is a group that was supposed to rank inside the bottom-10.
The Rams are first in EPA/play at -0.104. They are allowing just 16.7 points per game. pic.twitter.com/b2O0nTPaKO

via Next Gen Stats: The Rams utilized 13 personnel (1 RB, 3 TEs) on 38.7% of their offensive plays in Week 7, the highest usage rate by an offense in the Next Gen Stats era (since 2016).Asked Sean McVay postgame yesterday about activating the TEs and Davante Adams in the redzone as part of gameplan and what he liked about it.
As others have said, predicated in part by personnel availability for both sides (no Puka for LA, no Devin Lloyd for JAX). But McVay still thinks “this is an exciting thing for us to be able to build on.”

Braden Fiske was terrorizing the Jags yesterday to the tune of 8 pressures on a 22.6% pass rush win rate. His 15.5% pass rush win rate this season ranks 6th amongst all DTs and his 19 pressures rank 14th amongst DTsOctober 22, 2025 at 11:04 am #158848

Kobie Turner has generated 25 pressures this season, the fourth-most among all defensive tackles. Leading up to last Sunday’s game, he had produced 50 career pressures vs double teams, 9 more than any other player since he entered the NFL in 2023, according to @NextGenStats. His 12.2% pressure rate in 2025 is a career-high.October 22, 2025 at 3:59 pm #158852

@PFF. His 5 pass breakups this season are tied for the sixth-most in the NFL and he’s recorded 4 in the last two games.October 22, 2025 at 4:04 pm #158853

Had a really great conversation with @The_Coach_A yesterday about the Rams’ defense for a story that will be out soon. [Me note: “coach A” is Cody Alexander, a well-regarded on-twitter analyst who posts vids breaking down defensive plays]I wanted to share this quote he had about Chris Shula because it might not make it into the story. His schematic versatility and success have been impressive.

znModeratorKonata Mumpfield with a crisp route for the score! The 1st TD for the 6th round rookie
In a crowded WR room, Mumpfield has gotten some opportunities. His fast twitch route running will surely give him more chances as his career continues. Love seeing our late rounders thrive! pic.twitter.com/Y6QBjlgrID

headed into week 8 the rams defense ranks #1 in fewest offensive tds allowed, and #2 in fewest offensive points allowed per game (despite playing the #1 ranked scoring offense belonging to the colts, who the rams held to just 20).October 23, 2025 at 8:40 am #158858

znModerator16 minute mark. A rams stat.
Sounds good to me.
Yes. I wrote that down. As follows: “rams stat. 16 minutes in.”
Not sure if it’s useful though because there’s no chart or graph showing what other teams do at 16 minutes in.
And I’m not sure if what counts is the Rams in a game at 16 minutes of real time, or the Rams at 16 minutes by the play clock. Though if it were the play clock, in should be 14 minutes into the 2nd quarter.
