Sean McVay said Jordan Whittington’s 9 offensive snaps vs. Raiders was due to Whittington not being able to practice a lot last week because of the limitations with his shoulder injury. McVay said he hopes Whittington will have “a little bit more of a workload” vs. Vikings

Witherspoon has IMO locked down the starting boundary CB opposite Durant who emerged as an up and coming starter. I thought it was short sighted in not resigning Witherspoon but now they have their starting boundary CBs in Witherspoon and Durant.

McCollough was the big surprise to me. He lacks the normal athleticism you want in a safety, especially in terms of speed. But he has something more important. Jaylen thus far has shown the ability diagnose what is happening quickly and react properly allowing him to break on the ball. This in turn frees up Lake to play nickel where he is excelling.

Meanwhile Curl has shown why he was signed as his play continues to shine.

S Kam Curl (@KCurl_2) has three passes defended over the last two games. That is tied for the third-most across the NFL from Weeks 5-7, despite having a bye in Week 6.

2024 marks just the 4th time in the last 59 years (super bowl era) that a rams team has thrown 3 or fewer tds through the first 6 games of a season

S Jaylen McCollough became the first rookie UDFA since 2014 to record two or more interceptions in a game. His three interceptions over a two-game span during his rookie season are the most by an undrafted free agent since Everson Walls who accomplished the feat twice during his rookie season in 1981 (he recorded four interceptions between Weeks 7 and 8 and three interceptions between Weeks 3 and 4).

So this is interesting. Rams don’t have ILBs on the field on third and 4 and have six DBs. That means the green dot is not out there (Reeder) and communication goes to Lake on the back and Hoecht up front. You could see Hoecht getting the DL re-set right before the two minute hit
