You don’t hear Kupp being talked about among the great receivers in this league. But he should be. All that’s gonna change after this season, assuming he can get through the year. He’s a unique dude. Great strength and contact balance for his size with big YAC. Sick route runner who gets instant separation. Smart and anticipates/thinks like a QB. Outstanding hands.

And having a guy like that in the playoffs is the difference between a Super Bowl win and getting stifled by a Patriots defense IMO.

He’s got some serious focus coming from opposing defenses going forward. His film will have DCs saying “we gotta shut him down.”

Cooper Kupp has 271 yards from the first two games of the season. Yet he is third in the NFC West in receiving yards.

    Rams Brothers@RamsBrothers
We were so spoiled with Staley’s defense last year. Seems like chunk plays are far more frequent with Morris at the helm

    Blaine Grisak@bgrisakDTR
Cooper Kupp’s 271 yards are the third most through the first two weeks of a season in Rams franchise history. Trails Isaac Bruce’s 323 in 1998 and Ellard’s 329 in 1989.

    Cameron DaSilva@camdasilva
Sebastian Joseph-Day had 9 total tackles, 3 pressures, 1 sack, 2 QB hits and 6 run stops but PFF only gave him a 44.0 grade? Face with monocle

I thought he played well against the Colts…

Brian Allen was the highest graded Rams offensive lineman from yesterday per @PFF not allowing a single pressure

    Cameron DaSilva@camdasilva
Brian Allen has the 2nd-best grade of any center in the NFL through 2 games. He has the 3rd-best grade of any offensive player on the Rams.

I was gonna say the same thing.

Kupp would have made the difference in the Super Bowl. Ah, well.

Sounds like teammates appreciated the way RB Sony Michel came into the huddle after Darrell Henderson suffered an unfortunate ribs injury. Robert Woods said he had a smile for teammate and a calm way about him in a chaotic situation. “He was like, ‘alright, it’s go-time now.'”

Darrell Henderson injured his rib cartilage but Sean McVay says he hopes he can be ready for Sunday after resting this week. That’s a pretty painful injury IMO so we’ll see. But McVay certainly did not rule Henderson out against Tampa Bay.

    J.B. Long@JB_Long
Glad to hear from Sean McVay that @RamsNFL RB Darrell Henderson has a chance to be back as soon as this weekend vs TB, following what he described as a rib cartilage injury.

“Hope and optimism” were words he used.

    Gary Klein@LATimesklein
DeSean Jackson played only 3 snaps vs. Colts. McVay on Jackson: “There’s nothing that DeSean didn’t do. I just got to figure out a better way of getting him involved in a rotation so that he can affect the outcome of the game and that’s what you’ll see moving forward.

    Sosa Kremenjas@QBsMVP
Jalen Ramsey allowed 1 reception for 7 yards in coverage on Sunday.

There isn’t another player like him in the league right now.

It took the Rams exactly two weeks to rank dead last in DVOA on special teams. Hopefully this will change, but not sure why the Rams cannot get that phase of the game corrected

Fewest pressures allowed this season? Rams w/ 14 (@PFF).

They also rank 14th in rushing yards before contact per attempt at 1.5 (@PFF).

    Rams Wire@TheRamsWire
Sony Michel is expected to have a bigger role against the Bucs this week, even if Darrell Henderson Jr. is healthy enough to play.

Broncos are signing Rams practice squad ILB Micah Kiser, sources tell me and @JourdanRodrigue. Fifth-round pick of the Rams in 2018 is expected to be on the practice field for Denver today.

    Jourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigue
Kiser was technically back on the Rams’ PS, so that contract is terminated while he goes to the Broncos’ active roster as a familiar scheme looks for depth. Good fit for Kiser, who kind of became the odd man out as younger guys hit their development curves and Rams keep few ILBs.

Jalen Ramsey & Darious Williams haven’t given up a 20+ yard TD since 2019

The Rams are No. 5 in offensive DVOA, and No. 4 in defensive DVOA according to @fboutsiders latest rankings, and No. 2 overall. Conversely, they currently rank No. 32 in special teams DVOA…

    SeattleRams@seattlerams_nfl
The most incredible aspect of this early 2021 season is that they somehow got worse on special teams.

    Tyler Lockett is good.

Watching Jalen Ramsey nail him down to the floor twice last year was a thing to behold.

    All glory to Jalen.

I think was on Metcalf most of the time, got in his head and caused a couple melt downs.

    I think you’re right.

    I forgot about that.

    Metcalf, btw, is also good.

    Glory to Jalen.

Rams have scored 6 TDs through two weeks. All on long fields. Shortest TD drive has been 70 yards. Average has been 76.5.

61 total points is impressive, but even more so in the context of long fields, time of possession deficits, and trailing for only 2:03 of the season so far.

    Axel Kopun@FV_Mylia_Lynn
I doubt that is sustainable over a 17 game season. Having to go 70+ yards for TDs is not easy to maintain. Defense & especially special teams need to do a better job of getting the offense the ball in more favorable field position.

    Jourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigue
Opposing coach Bruce Arians is kindly giving the Rams beat some time this morning and starts with QB Matthew Stafford. “He’s a guy who I even watch warm up…he’s that talented.”

On Aaron Donald, Arians says, “he’s always had speed, but (over the years) has added so much power…that’s a baaaaad combination.”

Cooper Kupp is going up against a CB that’s allowed an 85.7% completion rate and 123 yards receiving + 2 receiving touchdowns this week.
