It’s likely Matthew Stafford will start the season hot. This was PFFs highest graded QBs through week 4 in 2020. pic.twitter.com/8hWjpaqI2j

Looked like the same uniform as last year, but they’ve been doing so many variations on the same theme that I’ll just have to take their word for it.
The QB looked good. From what I saw. Which wasn’t much, admittedly.
The stadium definitely looked the same as last year.
September 12, 2021 at 11:51 pm #132112canadaramParticipantLoved Stafford. Loved Kupp, but his toughness after the catch is a double edged sword as I worry about his durability. That Woods grab and toe tap was beautiful. The offensive line looked better than I thought they would in pass protection, but the lack of run game early on worries me.
I was unimpressed with the defense for most of the game. I realize that they only gave up 14 points, but they weren’t facing Peyton Manning in his prime. Hopefully they get better against the run and force more three-and-outs as the season progresses.
Happy for the win and encouraged by Stafford’s debut.

TD catch by Woods was pretty awesome too
Rams looked very good
September 13, 2021 at 10:02 am #132138HramParticipantGood win.
QB looked great for his first game with the team.
Few things to work on in the run game and on defense.
What I hoped to see in the first game.
September 13, 2021 at 10:07 am #132139wvParticipantHavent watched it yet. Saw the 9 minute highlight vid on utube.
I saw at least four throws Goff could not have made.
Bears RB got over 100 yards rushing, i see.

The Stafford-Bomb to Van J was something I havent seen a Ram QB
do since….oh….Banks? Ferragamo? Gabriel?
I mean, Stafford just flicks the damn ball and it goes 40 yards. We knew he could/would do this, but its so damn cool to see
him do it as a Ram QB. He threatens the entire field.
You cant coach that.
It changes the game.Somewhere Bob Waterfield smiled.
My favorite play so far though, was not by a Ram.
It was by this Montgomery kid. That S.Joseph.Day would-be tackle
in the backfield. The kid was rammed and wrapped up — and he just
would not go down. Old school football. 70’s football. Loved it.Somewhere Brian Piccolo smiled.

wondering right now if higbee can have the breakout season i thought he’d have last season.
tackling was bad. but it’s the first game of the season, and the starters never saw the preseason.
really glad to see rochell get reps. good to see williams and hoecht get reps too. want to see brown get some reps now.

The Bears have a lot of pieces, just missing QB .. so I’m glad we got to warm up against them rather than it being a trap game later in the season when it slows down for Fields.
The Great
1) Excitement. Just flat out joy experienced …
2) Justin Hollins. When he came out I liked him (I rate Ducks higher for some reason) and thought he could be a situational rusher with some upside … I did not see him becoming a fully well rounded player that we could count on to man the edge. Like … yeah we have Floyd but Hollins looks better .. and that’s the piece I was worried about not having.
3) Ramsey is playing on fire.
The Good
4) AD with 1 sack, 1 assist, and 1 holding. I’m going to track his sack assists this year.
5) Kenny Young is playing like I saw him at UCLA.
6) Kupp after the catch is one of my favorite things about watching our games. Now he has more time to make that first move.
7) Van sighting … that’s just a deep group. Scary.
8) I like the defensive rotation along the line … Hoecht got around the corner once, what OT is going to expect that kind of athleticism from a backup? From the philosophy it looks like we;’re using this will be important.
9) David Long making a play on the ball.
10) Rochelle looking like a vet?
11) Havenstein against Mack holding his own … was not expecting that.
12) Hendo on the goal line … I expect him to slash through holes but I like his acceleration into defender to get to paydirt.
13) Higbee involvement … Im a fan of TE play so I like him getting the ball fast so he can become the aggressor.
14) Woods TD catch. Not fair.
The Bad
15) It looks like our D scheme is “wait and hit” … so far. Which puts us in a “might get run on” position. So I get that we are tightening that up, but I don’t like being run on.
16) Why is Cooper catching punts? If I had the choice to have no one catch punts and just let the ball roll or have Cooper, I’d take no one.
17) 1st half run game was not good. We got away with it here, but we need to not have that be our standard.
18) We need to cover the TE better. Kmet is a good player, but there are a lot of high quality TEs in the league now .. we can’t have a weakness there.

He just-missed making a coupla plays he usually makes.

I have some bad news to share about Piccolo. DM me, and I will fill you in.

That play – you know the one I’m talking about – when Kupp got a 1st down on 3rd and 13 – that was just transcendently beautiful. THAT is what I love most about Kupp.
And his hands. I love that, too.
And don’t forget his route running. A lot of people overlook his route running.
But what else has Kupp ever done for us?

vyeah. there were a couple of plays where he had the guy right in his hands. and when that happens almost always the guy goes to the ground.

The Bears fans certainly seemed loud, anyway.w

I think if we look back, AD has always been a slow starter when the season begins.
September 15, 2021 at 11:35 pm #132220znModeratorBTW…Stafford’s okay I guess. He’ll do.
