I liked Danny when he was with the Rams, and I was bummed that he left, but I think I would have been happy for him no matter where he went. Except the Patriots. F that guy.

Jacob Harris walked into the Rams’ facilities this spring with a “new” position and a locker right next to Allen Robinson’s. In camp, and finally healthy, the message is clear: It’s time to go all-in at receiver. He’s got the tools, and teachers, to do it.
    .
At 6-foot-6, Jacob Harris is an intriguing option at wide receiver with the Rams
After tearing his ACL and MCL last season, Harris is eager to return and tap into the knowledge Allen Robinson brings.
    .
“He can pattern himself after Allen, that will be a good guy to just watch film on, his body control, how he attacks the ball,” WRs coach Eric Yarber told me. Robinson has already started giving specific Harris coaching points. Pairing the two – Harris is a sponge – is by design.
    .
For all of his clear gifts, Harris is still super raw. But Yarber told me that might be a good thing paired with desire to learn. “I like working with guys that are raw because they don’t have bad habits yet. Everything you teach them, they’re starting with those fundamentals.”
    .
I see Harris developing his more immediate impact on special teams – he’s expecting to play in all four phases and he’s fired up about it. He wisely doesn’t want to “rush” his learning curve at WR, and his new position coach says he’s eager to learn from mistakes and be a sponge.

    from https://www.latimes.com/sports/rams/story/2022-07-29/flashy-rookie-corner-rams-decobie-durant-training-camp

Safety Jordan Fuller said Durant impressed him early, and the cornerback’s play has continued to ascend.

“I knew he was a special talent, and I knew what he was capable of,” Fuller said Friday. “He’s not even scratching the surface of what he could be.”

Durant has made plays from the hybrid “star” position, which requires skills to play as an inside and outside cornerback.

Ramsey, a three-time All-Pro, has redefined the position but other cornerbacks are being groomed for the role.

“There’s a lot of nuances that we ask of that ‘star’ position, and he’s getting more comfortable every day,” McVay said of Durant.

Ramsey has seen Wagner and Jones work together in the early portions of training camp, as well as some OTA sessions this spring, and he expects big things out of this pairing.

Joe Noteboom said he (and other Rams OL) worked out at Andrew Whitworth’s home gym this offseason, so he saw him often. “He still cares about the team. He still cares about us and us doing well, and he’s always open to any questions. It’s still really great to have him around.”

Rams WR Van Jefferson, who is coming off knee surgery, did not practice. McVay: “We’re figuring that out right now, working through that.” Related to surgically-repaired knee? “l’ll have more information for you later, like I said, I don’t have anything right now.”
    .
    Ian Rapoport@RapSheet
#Rams WR Van Jefferson will see a specialist on Monday for a knee issue that has been plaguing him, source said. Jefferson has been doing maintenance and faces the prospect of missing a few weeks. He’ll have more info following the appointment, including if he needs surgery.

Sean McVay does expect Van Jefferson back in a matter of weeks (tho unsure if he will be cleared for opener at this time). He cites a few young players eligible for WR3 …then jokes (?), “and then we’ll continue to see if we can figure out when Odell will come back.”
