from Rodrigue, in one potential breakout candidate from each NFL team: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6488778/2025/07/14/nfl-breakout-players-2025-season/

    TE Terrance Ferguson

To be clear, Rams coach Sean McVay finally has to commit to a significant increase in 12 personnel for Ferguson, a rookie second-round pick, to truly emerge this season. But the offense has trended that way at times, especially last season. While McVay’s scheme was still largely run through 11 personnel (82 percent of the Rams’ offensive plays in 2024), he also deployed 12 personnel on 15.5 percent of offensive plays and hit that average or higher between Weeks 15 and 18. The Rams ran 12 personnel on an average of just 5 percent of offensive plays in 2023. Veteran tight end Tyler Higbee’s return from injury across that period gave McVay two healthy starting-caliber tight ends. He has reiterated his hope for his offense to be more multiple in 2025. — Jourdan Rodrigue

    from https://www.nbcsportsboston.com/nfl/new-england-patriots/john-streicher-mike-vrabel-game-management/683285/

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay confirmed to reporters Thursday that the team’s game management coordinator, John Streicher, is leaving to work with Vrabel in New England. McVay jokingly added that Streicher “broke (his) heart” with the news.

Rams head coach Sean McVay on Streicher: “This guy has checked every box, and continues to progress in his career. He’s made a tremendous difference, a tremendous impact with everyone he’s around. He’s absolutely someone who is a rising star in this profession.”

Jared Verse says Aaron Donald didn’t say hi when he showed up for their workout. AD told him to stretch before they went into circuits.

“Then he’s like, alright, you ready for the real workout? I’m like, bro, I’ve been here for 45 minutes, what are you talking about?”

More Verse: “His wife came in laughing at me. I told her to call the police — I’m not even joking, I’m dead serious — she wouldn’t do it. I tried to lie and say my mom was at my apartment and I had to let her in. He told me to give my keys to his assistant. So I wasn’t leaving”

Jared Verse on what he took from his workout with Aaron Donald this summer and added to his own:

“It was definitely the mindset that, like, you gotta keep going. The one thing he kept saying throughout the whole workout … Think of the fourth quarter. Like, everyone’s good the first and the second, third, but what about the fourth? That’s you make your money? That’s where you make your money. He kept saying, he’s saying it loud and proud.”

Verse: “He was talking like me. I was like, damn, okay, I guess there’s levels to this (stuff).”

Verse on what it means to have that kind of mentorship from Aaron Donald:

“It was insane to see, like, that’s the level it takes to be in the discussions of best defensive player ever, best player ever. So to know that’s the level I have to reach on a consecutive basis, that’s what I’m striving for.”
