Matthew Stafford only had 11 100-yard rushers in his entire Lionsā€™ career. The Lions had three games with a 100-yard rusher this season.

It is interesting to read fan reactions to the HOF announcement on social media. It seems the most outrage regarding players being snubbed was reserved for Zach Thomas. Not that that means anything, it could just be that Dolphins fans are the most passionate and are on social media more than any other fan base.

Anyway, clearly many Rams fans are bothered by Holt not making it. I am strangely ambivalent. Yet Ā I felt strongly about Bruce making it. I really wanted Ike to get in and was disappointed each year that he didnā€™t make it. I am not sure why I donā€™t feel the same way about Holt.

We all make mistakes at times. But ā€¦ Rams website story on Dick Vermeil said he won Super Bowl XV with the Eagles and didnā€™t mention he began NFL coaching career with the rams as one of the leagueā€™s first special teams coaches

Cam Akers and Sony Michel could be in for a big game on Sunday. Bengals have allowed 312 yards rushing to running backs in the postseason for 104 YPG and 5.7 YPC. Cincinnati’s -0.001 Rush EPA on defense and 49.2% success rate ranks 13th out of the 14 postseason teams.

The Bengals played GB, LAC, and DEN earlier this season. Reason thatā€™s relevant is all three defenses run some sort of Fangio-based defense (like the Rams). In those games: Joe Burrow: 246 yards/game, 4 TDs, 4 INTs, 4 sacks/game Cincy: 19.6 PPG, 1-2 record

It’s been a pick your poison thing with OBJ and Kupp. Play Robber over Kupp to bracket him, OBJ is left 1-1 for backside digs. Slide the other way, allow Kupp to kill you with choice routes. It took a few weeks, but McVay is feasting with these two at the table right now.

i really think a key for the rams is committing to the run.Ā  wear down the bengals defense.Ā  keep the bengals offense off the field.Ā  keep the rams d fresh.

then the rams d has to shut down the bengals run game and put insane pressure on burrow when he drops back.

if they try to get into a throwing contest with the bengals, i think the bengals can beat them.

    simple right?

People will tell you that Burrow thrives in pressure, about how he took 9 sacks and still won. Well he took 5+ sacks in 5 regular season games this year and they were 1-4 in those games. And they scored an avg of 19ppg in those games. -8 pts compared to their season avg.

Not knocking Burrow, heā€™s been really impressive and deserves credit. But this mythic narrative of the Bengals unlockable defense and Burrow overcoming all odds is manufactured.

yeah.Ā  and in the playoffs his numbers have dropped when under pressure compared to the regular season.Ā  the rams dline has to come with it and go off on joe.

His completion rate dropped from 64.3% when pressured during the regular season ā€“ top three in the NFL ā€“Ā to only 47.6% in the playoffs. Heā€™s averaging only 4.3 yards per attempt in the playoffs compared to 9.7 in the regular season, and his passer rating under pressure has dropped 54.6 points from 94.6 to only 40.0 this postseason.

Obviously, this is all very good news for the Rams, who have allowed a passer rating of only 10.8 when the quarterback is under pressure, giving up zero touchdown passes and picking off three passes, yielding a completion rate of just 26.5%.

As Rams pass rush peaks in playoffs, Joe Burrow’s stats under pressure have slipped
