The Rams went for it on fourth down three times Sunday, a clear philosophy shift for the typically conservative Sean McVay.
He's self-scouting and seeing more opportunities to keep the offense on the field https://t.co/ae98ocI3ek

Rams safety Taylor Rapp has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week after he intercepted two passes and had three passes defended in a 38-11 route of the New York Giants last Sunday. This is Rapp’s first time winning the award.Jourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigue
Rams safety Taylor Rapp has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week after his two-interception game against the Giants – his first time receiving the honor and the first time a Rams safety has won it since 2008, per NFL.Blaine Grisak@bgrisakDTR
The Rams defense is now fourth in DVOAOctober 20, 2021 at 11:28 am #133239znModeratorThis is absurd. No team has allowed fewer pressures on offense (63) or created more pressures on defense (134) than the #LARams. Talk about owning the line of scrimmage.

Rams sign Grant Haley and Jared Pinkney to practice squad
Following Tuesday’s moves to add two players to the 53-man roster, Sean McVay filled out his practice squad
By Venie Randy Soares Oct 20, 2021, 2:04pm CDTThe LA Rams signed cornerback Grant Haley and tight end Jared Pinkney to the practice squad, filling the openings created by the elevation of Donte Deayon and Buddy Howell to the active roster on Tuesday.
Haley originally signed with the New York Giants in 2018 as an undrafted free agent. Starting the season on the PS, he earned an early promotion and played in 10 games, starting nine. At the nickel and slot cornerback positions, he garnered 33 tackles and a PFF grade of 69.3
He struggled in 2019, losing his starting position and his PFF score dropping to 55.4. Haley was eventually released and signed by the New Orleans Saints in 2020. The Saints released him in final training camp cuts in 2021.
Coming out of Penn State, Haley is 5’9, 190 lbs., and ran 4.44 in he forty yard dash. He had 36 starts, played on special teams and was a team captain in his senior year.
Pinkney is 6’4 and 255 lbs. He’s had stints with the Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans, and Detroit Lions.
He fits the Rams TE mold, an athletic player whose blocking strength is movement and not raw power, getting to the second level, establishing and using leverage. Pinkney has college-level experience in zone blocking schemes.
NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein wrote of Pinkney before the draft:
“…He can handle move blocking duties in space, but doesn’t appear to have enough grit and strength to help inline.”
At 4.96 in the forty, he has enough speed to work the seams. He has good hands, decent length and catches the ball in traffic. Whether he could eventually fill the Johnny Mundt role remains to be seen, but adding these two players fit with LA’s current needs as expected.

October 24, 2021 at 9:19 am #133296JackPMillerParticipantWhat’s the cap like next year? We have a lot of UFA’s on our OLine, excluding Havenstein. Let’s not forget about Whit may retire.

It’s all been brought up, Jack. Whit may retire and 3 others are FAs: Noteboom, Allen, and Corbett.
IF Noteboom is the guy they sign him. IMO same with Allen. They need to extend Stafford too Corbett could walk. They always manufacture cap space for things like that.
Right now they have 6+ M in cap space but the ability to manufacture more. If nothing else, Whitworth retiring would clear up 13 M more. Add Robinson to that and it’s 18+ M more. That right there would be 24 M more, before counting any roll overs. I don’t know if these numbers account for Hav’s restructure.

We have a cap of $203M, in 2022 with restructuring
I assume we will restructure, Floyd and Stafford.
