Despite the way people look at the #Rams they actually ranked 6th in the NFL in homegrown players. They had the most drafted players in the NFL on their roster this year. That’s been overshadowed by the big trades

    Jourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigue
“All-in” is the splash phrase, but as explored many times, the Rams’ team-build incl. moves they made this year also depends on drafting and quickly developing players (i.e. on first contracts) who contribute at positions that complement the core contracts/investment positions.

The stars are super invaluable but they don’t work without the other part of the build (financially or on the field); the other guys likely don’t work without the stars and production/schematic attention they draw. It’s both at one time. Keeping them balanced is the tricky part.

    Rich Hammond@Rich_Hammond
Indeed. How many times have we talked about those “other guys” making the difference? So many times.

I’m tired of hearing about the Tart drop. Ramsey dropped one too. Pro Bowl bound Gay missed a FG. Skowronek dropped a TD. Move on. The score should have been worse than it was.

Rams defensive tackle leaders against 49ers and where the Rams got them from:
    Greg Gaines – 4th round
    Darious Williams – waivers
    A’Shawn Robinson – FA
    Nick Scott – 7th round
    Troy Reeder – UDFA
    Eric Weddle – couch

Eric Weddle played every single snap last night, 3 weeks after coming out of retirement. He led the Rams in tackles, too.

He’s now played 131 snaps in 3 weeks, more than Burgess played all season.

    Cooper Kupp@CooperKupp
We’re not here without Bobby Trees. No words to explain his value to me. Only the people in our building truly know his impact

Havenstein’s 90.1 overall grade was the highest of his career, which shows how effective he was against Nick Bosa

Reeder’s 28.2 was his second-lowest of the season. Missed 4 tackles and allowed 87 yards in coverage

    Jordan Reid@Jordan_Reid
Cooper Kupp is a major reason why many NFL teams are now leaning more on GPS data and transitioning away from 40-yard dash times when evaluating prospects. Play speed matters most.

    Ramaniac@RamaniacG
Whitworth on Rich Eisen saying it’s a higher percentage chance that the Super Bowl is his last game.

    Blaine Grisak@bgrisakDTR
The narrative about the final drive seems to be more about how Jimmy G couldn’t get it done instead of how the greatest defensive player ever rallied that group and willed his way through the OL to disrupt the pass and cause the interception. A GOAT moment for Donald.

    J.B. Long@JB_Long
That tackle that Havenstein made on the Ward INT? I mean, what conversation might we be having if the Rams right tackle doesn’t make that play like a safety?

Yeah, my son and I were talking about Reeder during the game. Not his best effort, that’s for sure.

And what happened to Jones? I think I only noticed him once all night.

Close game, but ONLY because of all those self-inflicted mistakes. The Rams haven’t really played a complete game on offense this postseason. D has been nails other than a couple lapses here & there, but the offense has been anywhere from amazing to gross at times. If they can
put it all together for a full game they will be unstoppable.

    Michael Lopez@StatsbyLopez
There are 32 great NFL teams, but one reason it is exciting to see the Rams and Bengals in the Super Bowl: the consistent and public credit that both teams give to their analytics folk.

This is uncommon but not unnoticed.

    Tom@TL_LARams
Eric Weddle playing like he is at age 37 after two years of retirement is even more impressive to me since I’m two years younger and nearly put myself in the hospital with a particularly strong sneeze a couple of weeks back

    RamsBeat@RamsBeat

Trent Williams: “They flooded the box. A couple times they brought in an extra D-Lineman. With the type of players they got, you can’t imagine they would continue to come out and get beat by the same scheme, so they switched it up a bit. Kudos to them. It’s football.”

    Jourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigue
Cooper Kupp caught two TDs yesterday but (grinning) dropped this gem today on working with Sean McVay: “I mean, he walks the line at times between unhealthy competition and healthy competition. He wants to win at all costs. He’s aware of it. He knows he’s a psycho. Wouldn’t want anyone else leading this team.”

Clash Of The Horns 12-5 NFC WBest@RamfamPodcaster
We need travin howard and earnest jones as our inside linebackers for the superbowl.

    Axel Kopun@FV_Mylia_Lynn
With the win yesterday the Rams became the 11th franchise in NFL history to make it to at least 5 Superbowls, joining NE (11), DEN/DAL/PIT (8), SF (7), & MIA/ NYG/GB/WAS/Raiders (5). The Rams have been to 4 Superbowls since 1999, 2nd in the NFL behind NE (9). Not too shabby.

    Fabian F.G.@fabian_football
Hasn’t it been a fun ride to the Super Bowl? Knocked out two of our division rivals and Tom Brady

    Kurt Warner@kurt13warner
Amazing to hear ppl here & some in analyst positions talk about 1 throw #MatthewStafford made that wasn’t good & try to rewrite the narrative of what could have been… Dude has been playing lights out & carrying@RamsNFL, don’t do that, every QB has AT LEAST 1 of those each game!

    Tej Seth@tejfbanalytics
matthew stafford has the same amount of NFC championship wins as aaron rodgers

Sean McVay says he has to sit down with Reggie Scott and the affected players but “certainly won’t rule out” possibility of returning Sebastian Joseph-Day, Robert Rochell and Darrell Henderson in time for Super Bowl.

    RamseyThe4th@RamseyDa4th
The best part of what Morris’ game-plan came on the last drive. Most teams would play it safe, but he continued to load the box to make Jimmy beat them deep. He knew what Jimmy can and can’t do.

    Nick Leach@NickLeach_
Joe Burrow is doing what I thought Matthew Stafford would do here in Detroit.

But also, Matthew Stafford is doing what I thought Matthew Stafford would do here in Detroit.

    Cameron DaSilva@camdasilva
Sean McVay shared an update on Tyler Higbee, who has a sprained MCL and is uncertain to play in the Super Bowl. Taylor Rapp is also making progress.
