    At 148, the Rams picked DL Ty Hamilton out of Ohio State. Giff Smith (who just walked in with the rest of the assistant coaches) celebrates.

    Rams sent Nos. 195 and a future fourth to the Bears to come up to 148 to get Hamilton.

    Hamilton had a third-round grade from our Dane Brugler, after adding weight from a pass-rushing role to slide into nose tackle. Rams brought in Poona Ford in FA to start but still wanted to keep adding depth along their front to clean things up for second and third levels.

    • Hasn’t missed a second of playing time due to injury, has played in all 55 games over the past 4 seasons
    • Initially projected to be a 3rd round pick

    New Rams DT Ty Hamilton specialized in run stopping last season during Ohio State’s national championship run.

    He had similar run tackling/stop efficiency to fellow Buckeyes DT Tyleik Williams, who went in Round 1.

    interesting pair, the bigger guy played mostly 3-tech. Hamilton, a bit smaller, was the 1-tech. Both good run stuffers but Williams had some rush skills, too. But Hamilton a very worthy pick
