#Rams starting guard Steve Avila, who left last night’s game with a knee injury, is believed to have suffered an MCL sprain, sources say. He’ll have an MRI and further testing today to determine the full extent.

Per @RapSheet this morning, Puka is expected to miss some time. Same injury he dealt with during training camp (bursa sack). Likely going to need fluid and blood drained from that knee. Kupp went through a similar procedure in the 2021 offseason, prior to his SBMVP year.

McVay clarifies, Nacua will go to IR. He will miss four games minimum.
    .
    RAMS REPORT@RamsNFLReport
Per reports, Puka Nacua has suffered a PCL strain and will be out a minimum of 4 games on IR. The Rams just so happen to have a bye week following that four week stretch, so the first game where Nacua could come back and play would be in Week 7 at home vs Las Vegas.

Sean McVay said Joe Noteboom suffered a high ankle sprain and will miss a few weeks. Kevin Dotson has a lateral sprain and is day-to-day.

Week 6 bye may be a blessing for the #Rams

    • Puka Nacua: 4-game IR (Week 7 return)
    • Steve Avila: 4-game IR (Week 7 return)
    • Darious Williams: 4-game IR (Week 5 return)
    • Kevin Dotson: day-to-day
    • Joe Noteboom & Cobie Durant: “will miss a few weeks”

    • Steve Avila: 4-game IR (Week 7 return)

Sources: #Rams starting G/C Steve Avila suffered a sprained MCL Sunday vs the #Lions and will miss about 4-6 weeks, per sources. He’s more than likely going to land on IR. A tough break for Avila, a quality young player who did not miss a snap in his rookie season.

    – OL Steve Avila and Joe Noteboom + WR Puka Nacua to injured reserve (minimum four games)

Kevin Dotson (foot) will be held out of practice today but Sean McVay said they are going to be careful with the starting RG with the expectation he will make it to the game. Cobie Durant (toe) won’t practice. Rob Havenstein (ankle) and Christian Rozeboom (n/a) will be limited.

Jonah Jackson is the only player among the Rams’ starting offensive line (as determined heading into training camp) who is practicing.

Puka Nacua, Steve Avila and Joe Noteboom are eligible to come off IR after week 5 game against Packers and will have benefit of bye week. But McVay said they each have unique injuries that could keep them out longer.

The Rams next four games are against the Cards (away), 49ers, Bears (away), and Packers.  Assuming there are no more injuries to key starters, they could go 3-1 against that schedule, especially if Jordan Love can’t play.   The injuries have been catastrophic but it isn’t panic time yet.  After the bye they could still be sitting at 3-2 with all/most of the starters back facing a very bad Raiders team.

The OL situation will settle down soon enough, assuming there’s no more injuries. Really it’s just Avila. Jackson and Hav will both be back at the tackle spots presumably after this game and with Hav, he might be back for this game. Then it’s just Limmer for Avila which while not ideal isn’t bad. They couldn’t run the ball against the Lions so when the OL is intact again, that’s what we’ll be looking for, the running game.

Sean McVay says Rob Havenstein is expected to play Sunday. Warren McClendon would move to LT.
    .
RG Kevin Dotson (foot/ankle) is also expected to play Sunday, per Sean McVay.
    Ian Rapoport@RapSheet
#Rams standout G Steve Avila underwent surgery to repair his MCL, per coach Sean McVay. He’s looking at being back on the field in November, ready for the stretch run. McVay said the plan was to accelerate his recovery.

Sean McVay said TE Davis Allen (back) is doubtful to play Sunday vs. Arizona. Quentin Lake (hip), Kevin Dotson (foot) and Cobie Durant (toe) will be listed as questionable on the injury report, but McVay said he expects them to be able to play.

Rob Havenstein is expected to play Sunday, per Sean McVay. Additionally, Warren McClendon will likely go at LT
So with Havenstein and Dotson expected to play, Rams will at least have 3 of their original five starters on their offensive line back in Week 2. Slated to have 4 of the 5 when Alaric Jackson returns from suspension next week

McVay said the plan was to accelerate his {Avila’s} recovery.

WTH does that mean? Get him weight-lifting earlier than typical? Giving him colloidal silver and taping crystals to his knee?
