The Saints have had the #1 offense in the NFL the last three years. I’ll take him.

Doug Marrone
From the Wiki
Buffalo Bills
On January 6, 2013, he was chosen to succeed Chan Gailey as head coach of the Buffalo Bills. His overall record as head coach of the Bills was 15–17.
In 2014, the Bills finished with a record of 9–7, second place in the AFC East and two wins away from making the playoffs. This was the Bills’ first winning season in 10 years (when the Bills finished 9-7 under Mike Mularkey in 2004). At the end of the 2014 season, it was revealed that Marrone had a three-day out clause in his contract in the event of an ownership change. Marrone exercised the out clause and resigned on December 31, 2014, and still collected his 2015 salary in-full. After Marrone quit, several players expressed their displeasure and disgust with both the decision and the way that he informed the team; one of the captains and the longest-tenured player on the team, running back Fred Jackson, said it was “like getting punched in the stomach.” Marrone interviewed with the New York Jets after opting out of his contract with the Bills; his interview reportedly did not go well.
Jacksonville Jaguars
On January 20, 2015, the Jacksonville Jaguars hired Marrone to be assistant to the head coach and offensive line coach. On December 19, 2016, he was named the interim head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars following the firing of former head coach Gus Bradley.

Source: Rams, Rob Chudzinski to talkThe St. Louis Rams are scheduled to interview Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski for their head coaching vacancy Thursday, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.St. Louis also plan to interview New Orleans Saints assistant coach Aaron Kromer on Friday, league sources said. The Rams also have interviewed Jeff Fisher, who’s expected to choose this week between St. Louis and the Miami Dolphins.Chudzinski interviewed for the Jaguars’ head coaching job, but lost out to Mike Mularkey, whose hiring was announced Tuesday night.Under Chudzinski, the Panthers finished seventh in the league on offense while setting a franchise record for total yards in a season. The Panthers scored 47 touchdowns. The Rams fired coach Steve Spagnuolo after finishing 2-14 in 2011.January 2, 2017 at 6:19 pm #62247TSRFParticipantI vote no on Marrone. He showed his colors with the Buffalo exit.
I’d like to see Matt Patricia with a strong, established OC (Norv Turner, anyone?).
Keep the D as the focus, slowly build the O to respectability.
I vote no on Payton. I don’t like anything about the Saints post Bounty Gate.
Here’s my Dayquill induced waking fever dream: If Patricia is hired as a HC, the Pats will replace him with GW. Maybe the egos are too big to allow for that, but boy, wouldn’t that reaffirm the whole “evil empire” theory?
January 2, 2017 at 6:36 pm #62248PA RamParticipantZn, I’m pretty sure that Chudzinski article is old. If they interview Fisher again I’m done with the team I tell ya. Done.

Well…that’s good to know that they have patched things up…also, we won’t have to wait on details of the contract because he’s already got one.

Here are all the candidates Rams plan to interview for head coach job
The Los Angeles Rams have many names on their watch list to fill their head coaching vacancy. We will update this post as we learn more.
Could Mike Shanahan become Rams GM with Kyle Shanahan as head coach?
Kyle Shanahan (Offensive Coordinator, Atlanta)
The Falcons offensive coordinator appears to be the early favorite for the job. He has done a tremendous job with the Atlanta offense and Matt Ryan.Between Friday and Saturday, #Falcons OC Kyle Shanahan will do HC interviews with #Rams, #Jaguars, #Broncos & #49ers, sources say.

He will interview between January 6 and January 7.

Rams will request interview with Falcons’ Kyle Shanahan for coach
Sean McVay (Offensive Coordinator, Washington)
For a coach who’s only 30, McVay has already accomplished quite a bit during his career. His work with Kirk Cousins is especially impressive. He will reportedly interview for the job on January 5.

Washington offensive coordinator Sean McVay is a sleeper for Rams job
Josh McDaniels or Matt Patricia (Patriots Coordinators)
The two Patriots coaches are both fantastic options if they’re willing to leave New England for next season.#Patriots OC Josh McDaniels will get plenty of requests. My understanding is he’ll do 3 interviews late this week: #Rams, #Jaguars, #49ers.

McDaniels will reportedly interview for the Rams job later this week.

Harold Goodwin (Arizona Offensive Coordinator)
The Arizona offensive coordinator destroyed Los Angeles during the final game of the season. He was a former offensive line coach, which is perhaps the biggest need for the Rams.Rams, Jags and Bills all expected to interview Cardinals offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin for their head coaching job, per sources.

Anthony Lynn (Buffalo Offensive Coordinator)
The Buffalo interim coach will likely stay with the Bills, but if he doesn’t, the Rams would love to have him as their head coach.[IMG]

Steve Wilks (Carolina defensive back coach)
Wilks is an assistant coach for the Carolina Panthers who also coaches the defensive backs. He doesn’t exactly seem to fit the needs of the organization. The #Rams will interview secondary coach and assistant head coach Steve Wilks for their HC job, source said. He has filled in for Rivera

Vance Joseph (Miami defensive coordinator)
The Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator is considered a favorite for the Chargers job.The #Rams and #Bills are requesting permission to speak with #Dolphins DC Vance Joseph, sources say. #Chargers, too.

January 3, 2017 at 8:21 am #62277sanbaggerParticipantMy Spidey senses tell me Stan would love to get Josh McD to come to LA…I just don’t think Josh is gonna want the job…just think he would rather wait out Bellicheater.
As of this date…I’m leaning towards the Shanahan clan to come in and revamp this O, I just would love to know who he is gonna propose as his D coordinator.

Rams’ coaching search turns next to coordinators McDaniels, Patricia and Shanahan

e window for interviewing coaches on the staffs of NFL teams with playoff byes opens and closes this weekend, so the Rams will focus their efforts on New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia and Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan.
All have interviews lined up this weekend with multiple teams searching for head coaches.
The Patriots and Falcons open the playoffs Jan. 14. McDaniels, Patricia and Shanahan won’t be available for follow-up interviews until after those games. If their teams make Super Bowl runs they could not be hired until after the championship game Feb. 5.
On Thursday, the Rams interviewed Washington Redskins offensive coordinator Sean McVay and Arizona Cardinals offensive coordinator Harold Goodwin.
McDaniels and Patricia will be interviewed Saturday, a person with knowledge of the situation said.
McDaniels, 40, already has had one stint as an NFL head coach. After three seasons as the Patriots’ offensive coordinator, he was hired by the Denver Broncos in 2009 but was fired after compiling an 11-17 record in less than two seasons.
He was the Rams’ offensive coordinator in 2011 before returning to the Patriots in 2012.
This season, the Patriots were without suspended quarterback Tom Brady for the first four games but still finished fourth in the NFL in offense, averaging 386.2 yards a game. They averaged 27.6 points, which ranked third in the league.
Patricia, 42, oversees a defense that gave up only 15.6 points a game, fewest in the NFL. It ranked eighth overall, giving up an average of 326.4 yards.
Shanahan, 37, is in his second season as the Falcons’ offensive coordinator. This season, he oversaw a unit featuring quarterback Matt Ryan that ranked first in scoring (33.8 points a game) and second in offense (415.8 yards a game).
Shanahan is the son of former NFL coach Mike Shanahan.
The Rams met previously with Rams special teams coordinator John Fassel and Carolina Panthers secondary coach Steve Wilks.
The Rams will interview Buffalo Bills interim coach Anthony Lynn next week. They also are expected to speak with Jacksonville Jaguars interim coach Doug Marrone and Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Vance Joseph.
Quick hits
Rock Gullickson, the Rams’ strength and conditioning coach since 2009, will take a position at the University of Tennessee, a person with knowledge of the situation confirmed. … The Rams did not win a game in December, but that did not stop punter Johnny Hekker from gaining recognition as the NFC special teams players of the month. Hekker, voted to the Pro Bowl for the third time in four seasons, led the NFL with a 47.8-yard average. He also was first in net average at 46.0 yards per kick.

I like Norv and always felt like he would have been a perfect fit for Fisher.
Apparently Chip Kelly has a strong relationship with Bellichick and have even heard from from some New England guys rumors are if Josh leaves he could replace him in NE.
If Patricia leaves and Josh stays, what about a Patricia / Chip Kelly duo? Seems like BB would certainly bend Patricia’s ear…
