January 9, 2024 at 9:42 pm #148496znModeratorTom Pelissero@TomPelisseroThe #Chargers requested an interview with #Rams DC Raheem Morris for their head coaching job, per source. That’s three for Morris, who also has requests from Washington and Carolina..SeattleRams@seattlerams_nflOn the @Mitch_Seattle podcast today, Peter King says he would start any head coaching search with Raheem Morris. Peter mentions that Raheem probably got his HC job with Tampa Bay two years too early. Says he’s one of the most respected men in the league.January 10, 2024 at 10:45 am #148513wvParticipant
Raheem would probly take half of McVay’s staff with him. Sigh.

January 10, 2024 at 8:09 pm #148534znModeratorA coaching candidate to keep an eye on: @RamsNFL DC Raheem Morris. Could the success of former defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans and his ability to develop players and a culture in Houston help sway owners who might only see offensive coaches as the way? With the Pete Carroll departure in Seattle, that makes seven head coach openings. Raheem Morris is a top-7 candidate. Feels like there is a media push for him to get a second chance. The question is…does he get hired? Already been requested by WAS, LAC, CAR.January 10, 2024 at 11:18 pm #148568ZooeyModeratorIf Morris gets hired away from the Rams, how about Staley returning as HC? I think it’s unlikely he will get hired as a HC anywhere else for next year, and returning to the Rams as DC means he doesn’t have to move his family, and he knows McVay, and it’s a good gig.
January 11, 2024 at 10:44 am #148585znModeratorAdam Schefter@AdamSchefterFalcons requested permission to interview Rams’ defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, per source. Morris was the Falcons’ interim HC for 11 games in 2020. He also has gotten requests to interview for the Chargers. Commanders and Panthers HC jobsJanuary 14, 2024 at 1:55 pm #148689znModeratorTook over Tampa team near bottom of NFL in spending & won 10 games in 2010. Bucs didn’t have another 10 win season between 2006 & Tom Brady
Falcons have requested to interview him so they must think he can be more than the interim

January 15, 2024 at 5:27 pm #148774nittany ramModeratorWith the exception of Aaron Donald, Raheem’s defense was better than the sum of its parts. Somehow he managed to put together an effective defense with Witherspoon, Kendrick, et. al.
I wish him well.
January 18, 2024 at 5:16 pm #148855JackPMillerParticipantOne guy I thought about is former NFL Linebacker, Darryl Tapp, who is a DLine coach for the the 49ers, as our new DC, should Morris gets a HC position. Or we can make sure Anthony Pleasant stays, by offering him the DC spot, and that is again, Morris gets an HC position.

A second interview probably means it’s gone beyond just going through the motions.
He’s a good coach, but I think the Rams can find his replacement, and his departure means extra 3rd rounders this year and next. Good for his career, and the Rams, etc.

January 30, 2024 at 1:32 am #149129znModeratorBlaine Grisak@bgrisakTST Raheem Morrishas officially taken with him both Zac Robinson and Jimmy Lake from the Rams’ staff to Atlanta
Assistant head coach – Jimmy Lake
We didn’t hear much about Lake. He was with Morris in 2010-11 as a DB coach at Tampa. Lake was the head coach of Washington from 2020-21 until he was fired for pushing one of his own players to break up an alteraction on the sideline. He was out of football in 2022 and apparently at Morris’s behest the Rams brought him on in 2023. So now he’s Morris’s DC in Atlanta.
