InvaderRamModeratori’m curious as to how mcvay decides to attack the houston defense.
it’s a good defense, but zn’s post showed that they’re vulnerable to play action. so does mcvay use a lot of play action and let goff rip it, or does he protect the ball and try to run it?
i expect something similar to the giants game. he’s generally tried to pound the ball all season.

InvaderRamModeratoryeah to me it’s rams and eagles in the nfc. both offenses about as complete as you could expect. exciting offenses. it’ll come down to defense for me.
but i gotta say that performance against the broncos. i didn’t see the game, but on paper. oh boy. that’s scary.

InvaderRamModeratoralso curley needs to brush up on his rams history. that historic rams turnaround was 1999 not 2001.

What about New Orleans and Minnesota? My son says Minnesota has played a soft schedule, and we know they are helmed by Case Keenum.

I agree on both the Saints and the Vikings. Drew Brees is still going strong, Alvin Kamara looks unstoppable and their defense seems reborn. The Vikings continue to win even with Keenum starting because their defense is elite. If either Bradford or Bridgewater can return and stay healthy I would think that they can make a big run.

Keenum went 7-7 with the Rams, but he did better overall when they had a running game (0.8% Ints in 2016, 3.4% in 2016). The Vikings have a running game. With a running game he can be the hobbit who surprises you (1.3% Ints). The defense helps too. So with him at qb they’re 11th in total offense and 13th in points. But you’re right, they would be a top contender with a starting caliber qb.

certainly they are strong teams. i just don’t know that they’re as complete a team as the rams and eagles are.
i guess we’ll find out soon enough though but i’m confident the rams can beat those teams. maybe not minnesota but only only because it’s on the road. then again the rams have been strong on the road. but i’m not so sure about philly.

if bradford and cook were healthy, forget about it. with their defense, it’d be the vikings. no doubt.
but that’s 2 big pieces missing.

ZooeyModeratorLet me get this straight:
It’s November, and we are having a conversation about how the Rams measure up against the top teams in the NFC. Do I have that right?
{“Zooey…Wake up. It’s time to get up and go to work….”}

HerzogParticipantMan, I don’t know how good this Rams team actually is, but we’re about to find out. After Houston (maybe including Houston) they are about to play some really great teams. I’m excited to see how they measure up, b/c right now, they look pretty damn good.
