November 2, 2014 at 7:18 pm #11019HighPlainsDrifterParticipantGotta take my hat off to Gregg Williams and his defense. What a tremendous performance. I’ve been down hard on ’em but you have to give credit where credit is due. They got it done. What a great win, and let’s hope it’s a building block to better things.
November 2, 2014 at 7:20 pm #11020PA RamParticipantI had to run out and pick up my wife and I was fortunate the game was on the radio. My wife’s lips were moving all the way home but I didn’t hear a word she said. I was tuned into the game. I thought for sure that this was going to be another crushing defeat. but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rams Win!!!!!!!!!
There is a particularly obnoxious 49er fan at work I can’t wait to see tomorrow. 🙂

Niner fan here. I have never seen a 49er QB with all the players he is surrounded with look so stupid as Kapernick. I will be very upset if they don’t get a QB in the 1st round next year. Maybe a free agent. This guy can’t improve.Rams fans are not the only ones calling for a new QB.

Obnoxious 49er fan is redundant.
November 2, 2014 at 7:46 pm #11027cgsuddeathParticipantCouple thing to note ZN.You were right on two counts.
1.The team needed time to learn the defense.
2.Davis has a weak arm and is still learning.November 2, 2014 at 10:00 pm #11043OahuRamParticipantVery happy with the win. Good defensive line. LBs still looked slow and blockable at times. Hopefully Davis improves now that teams have adjusted to him. Nice to see Mason featured.
If DL can get to Palmer next week we can win but I am worried we are gonna get out coached.
November 2, 2014 at 10:30 pm #11046znModeratorRams defense — best game in a while, in spite of the adventure at cornerback.
Some stuff:
When Hayes went out, since Westrooks was not active, they were down to Quinn and Sims as they’re only 2 DEs…who played the rest of the game by themselves.
9ers were 3-12 on 3rd downs.
CK was sacked 8 times and their YPA was held to 4.5.
9ers were held to 263 total yards and in spite of keeping the ball for 32:26 scored just 10 points.
9ers lost 2 fumbles.
Gore got 49 yards on 14 carries (3.5) and total the 9ers running game averaged 3.8 a carry.
Robert Quinn is credited with defensing one pass.

2.Davis has a weak arm and is still learning.IMO his arm strength is fine ,it’s just that he has a habit of jump passing everything instead of setting his feet.I am not surprised after the beating he regularly takes these days. The KC game was ridiculous in that regard. We’ve seen the gunshy behavior with Warner,Bulger and Bradford too. Just way too many hits on him and it appears the damage is done.

Yeah and people want us to draft a quarterback before fixing the problem

Well, ER, I gotta disagree.
His arm strength sucks.
And a lot of his trouble with the rush comes because he can’t read the blitz and punish it by hitting the open man behind it. I saw many a wide open receiver out there.
By virtue of the absurd ...
November 3, 2014 at 3:24 am #11055MaddyParticipantWell, the Niner fans sure want a bunch of heads to roll. Roman, Harbaugh, Kaepernick – they must go I guess. It’s a real shame. At least they aren’t all blaming the officiating.
So, who will be QB next season? A guy we draft? Davis? Hill? A free agent? Bradford? If I had to pick from that set of options, I would take Bradford if he’s healthy. But I don’t know much about the economics of it.

November 3, 2014 at 11:18 am #11089wvParticipant=============================
Ramble–OnI was in the box office line to pick up my tickets, and I saw an older couple in line, and the wife was wearing a Cunningham jersey. I went up to them and gave them both a “Go Rams!” and a high five. As I was standing there, I started thinking that it was a bit strange she had Benny’s jersey…I mean he’s great, but who has a Benny Cunningham jersey? Then I noticed that the couple was letting everyone walk past them in line, as if they were waiting for something….their free tickets perhaps?
On a hunch, I pulled up Cunningham’s Wikipedia page on my phone to see where he was from (thinking maybe SF), and I hear someone else ask the couple where they’re from. They reply, “Tennessee,” which is where he’s from, so I said, “Excuse me, but…do you know Benny somehow?” the woman said with a smile, “Oh yes, I’m his momma!”
I high fived Benny Cunningham’s momma! Totally made my day.

Also, maybe obvious, but the Niner fans were awful. We made good conversation with a few guys around us, but the stadium was half empty, and there was lots of cheering and celebration when Austin Davis left the field with an injury at one point.
What an excruciating game to watch…on pins and needles until the very last second! GO RAMS!!!
