Everything goes here–pre-game, during the game, post-game, us and the media etc.
August 17, 2022 at 8:23 pm #140143znModeratorJourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigueI asked Sean McVay about backup QBs plan through this preseason game, and he said John Wolford will play first half of Friday’s game. This is a different approach than last year when Bryce Perkins closed it out solo, & McVay indicates they’d like to get Wolford some live work.August 17, 2022 at 8:26 pm #140144znModeratorThe Rams play the Texans this Friday, they won’t see them in the regular season for most likely a few years, after their victory in Houston last year.
What a play here from the last matchup where the Rams defense was flying around like a pack of Lions! Gaines, AD, and Ramsey! pic.twitter.com/R6BI4cofyD

August 20, 2022 at 1:15 am #140178znModeratorGreg Beacham@gregbeachamLance McCutcheon makes another long catch down to the Texans 11, but he can’t get out of bounds and the Rams are out of timeouts so this game ends with a 24-20 win for Houston. The Rams’ dream of an unbeaten preseason dies..SeattleRams@seattlerams_nflWolford seemed fine when Jared Goff was the standard, but it’s becoming clear that the Rams need a better backup at QB with this current roster.
Is that Perkins? I don’t know, but I’m certain it’s not the wolf.
Richard Ramsey@Richard95549251
We can just predict this….Wolford is getting crushed by this awful OL against their first team D. Texans will put in backups in the 2d half and Bryce Perkins will light it up. How does McVay fairly judge these two qb’s in that scenario?Rams Brothers@RamsBrothers
We are not sitting here saying “Logan Bruss is awful” with some of the Texans starting defensive line out there, right? He’s also playing along side of Bobby Evans, who is struggling mightily.Cameron DaSilva@camdasilva
Texans already have 4 sacks tonight. Believe two of them were allowed by Logan Bruss.Blaine Grisak@bgrisakDTR
The OL is struggling out there. Wolford just doesn’t have much time outside of quick game. Rams punt and Houston will take over.Just a reminder that Houston currently has most of their starters out on the field while the Rams are playing their backups at best. Neither team unleashing their full playbook, but Rams looking like the better group.
Lance McCutcheon led Rams receivers with 51 yards on two catches…
but Brycen Hopkins sneaking in with a game-high six catches in the first half. Strong showing for Hopkins!
·
1hFirst half standouts:1. Lance McCutcheon
2. Jonah Williams
3. Robert Rochell
4. Brycen Hopkins
5. Terrell Burgess69RamFan
McVay better bump up Perkins as the number two QB.
Woolfie sucks!!!
Perkins just keeps on making plays.
He has a feel for the pocket.
While Woolfie can’t see over the OL and runs out the pocket,
or doesn’t move up into the pocket when there is a hole either to pass or run.
Where as Perkins, can run out or stay in the pocket, and move up either to run or pass.

Rams lost to the Texans.
Looks to me like the season is over before it even starts.

I really do not care that the Rams lost to the Texans in a preseason game. But the Rams 2s and 3s hanging with the Texans 1s was a real good sign at the state of the rosterJourdan Rodrigue@JourdanRodrigue
More from the locker room: McCutcheon has mostly worked with Perkins in camp. Throws today were actually Wolford’s first live reps with him. “Friendlier target, bigger body, contorts well, catches it clean, strong hands. Good target (for) a quarterback,” said Wolford.RAMZILLA@elitster
A QB other than Perkins on that last drive would have been sacked at least twice. Perkins; decisive, athletic, strong, gets the ball outKoll_0ne@Koll_0ne
I like Perkins more than Wolford. Wolford can manage a game fine but Perkins can make those plays you don’t expect. The kind of plays that energize a team. If Stafford were to go down that’s what I’d want in a QB. His escapability sets him apart. He navigates the pocket wellAugust 21, 2022 at 8:05 am #140205znModeratorJonah Williams put the OL in a blender man pic.twitter.com/lyO4EsASRk
