Jimmy G said he and his agent knew of opportunities for him elsewhere, but he wanted to stay with the Rams.

“I love the people here, love the teammates. I’m at that point in my career where those are the little things that make a difference to me.”

    Gary Klein@LATimesklein
Garoppolo, who has played for Patriots, 49ers, Raiders and Rams: “There were some opportunities. But I’ve been in a bad organization and I’ve seen how it can wear on you throughout the year. Just talking to my brothers, my family, didn’t want to go through that again.”

McVay put Tutu in the box. He asked him to do a thing. He felt Tutu could do it. Tutu couldn’t.

By size, speed, quickness … McVay felt Tutu could be a return guy- McVay was wrong.

He’s had a role, a good niche role and in that he’s done just okay. Not great. Not bad – for a deep threat we all hoped for more. And in gadget plays … not tremendous, either. returns? Nada

The mistake, though, and you may agree, is that McVay should have never taken him as high as he did.

If Tutu were a 5th round pick, then anything he did would be acceptable. But with a premium pick — the hope is that they are impact players.

No one argues that he’s that.

I would hope Eagles success, Bengals’ signings, etc would help lose the false narrative that teams paying top-of-market QBs can’t have superior talent around them due to Cap.
    Never been the case.
Most teams have roughly 60% of roster on rookie contracts; built-in Cap balancer.
