First of all, let me say that I do not see how the Rams will beat the Cards. The Cards have an offense AND defense. They are at home. They are undefeated. They look unbeatable.

    But I’m taking the Rams.

I don’t even know why. This must be pure emotion speaking but I can’t tell you why the Rams will win this game.

Sure, they could have a great special teams day–Tavon can take it back any time. The defense cold make a statement and hold down the Cards and the Rams may eek out a fg at the end to win this thing. Maybe Gurley breaks lose and runs all over their defense.

    No idea.

But this is just one of those games I’m taking the Rams because it just FEELS right to me somehow.

Dammit – THAT was a winnable game Sunday against the Steelers! The D showed up – the O, well – not so much.

Big game Sunday to even up the record. I think the Rams could match up well with Arizona, need some bounces to go the Rams way. Fingers crossed.

Looking ahead, GB looks tough. Brutal opening schedule. Gotta have one of the next two though…

Rams must take care of the football against Arizona and they’ll have a chance. Kaepernick threw 4 ints against their defense–two went for touchdowns. If they play typical sloppy offense–they’ll get blown out. Cards also had a pick 6 against Chicago so this team can return those ints. Make the Cardinals EARN it against our defense. The Cards have not been tested by a great defense yet. The Rams will give them their biggest challenge there–but if the offense stumbles, gives up ints and turnovers, it’ll be a long day.

The Rams CAN beat this team.

But it depends on whether the good defense shows up and if the offense doesn’t go into meltdown.

Well if I’m not mistaken, Arians/Palmer are just gonna
say screw the pass-rush, ATTACK with passes all over
the field – short, medium, deep, middle.

It might be strength against stength. Ya know.

I have more hope for the AZ game than GB. They play AZ tough, generally, though iirc, they don’t do as well in AZ as in St.L.

Oh it’ll be a challenge. Cards will have quick throws ready, I’m sure, because Palmer is a tree back there. If the rush gets to him it’s over. I expect quick screens and also a lot of rush attempts. But I worry less about the defense and more about another offensive meltdown. 6 minutes into the game the 9ers were down by two touchdowns–both on pick sixes.

If that happens to the Rams–game over. Early.

If this Rams offense doesn’t improve quickly–great defensive performances won’t matter. They’ll just lose more 12-6 games.

Gotta give ’em a taste of their own medicine – make a Pick 6 play on D. Make a play on teams. And run the damn ball.

rams HAVE to get turnovers and give the offense a short field to work with. at least 2. and the offense can’t give the ball away. and the d line has to get a ton of pressure on palmer.

if they do that. they’ll have a chance.

Rams can beat Arizona. I think they would have last year, except for A.Davis.

Carson Palmer carved up the Rams pretty good last year up until he got hurt.

I just don’t see this team, right now, competing on the road against a really good team. They really needed to win in Washington, and they really should have won at home against Pittsburgh. And, they could do neither, because of various reasons.

I just don’t see anything other than a 1-4 start at this point. I just don’t.

But. Trying to be optimistic. Maybe the Rams can turn the running game around this week. That’s the only way this offense can do enough to win, imo. Control the ball. Get a lead. And, fer Chrissakes, stop making critical mistakes and penalties on offense. The Rams can’t help but beat themselves. They even did things to beat themselves in the one game they won.

    I expect a
    typical knockdown-drag-out
    cardinal-ram bloodfest.

    Could go either way.

    Fitzgerald worries me.

    Donald
    and Quinn should worry them.

The Cardinals will look back on this game as one for which they wish that they had never suited up.

Because they so thoroughly destroy the Rams that they recoil in horror much like the captain and crew of the Enola Gay?

if this defense has any pride they are going into this arizona game pissed and take our all of their anger and frustration out on carson. get some fumbles and interceptions.

on offense hopefully the oline and rbs iron out the mistakes and start gashing that cardinal defense.

if they can do that i see the rams winning.

So, how are the Rams doing so far this season?

I watched them struggle after the huge yet fading Seahag victory. Could be the highlight of their season – so far it is.

I certainly hope that their offense and particularly their ol can show up in AZ – if that happens, they have a chance. Not much of a chance I’d say, but a chance. They have to get a solid running game going. It’s what they were built to do and the only chance they have to be successful I believe.

    I’ll guess Cards – 20, Rams 21. Go Rams.

What I like: Rams D against the ARz O — pressure. But it’s a test for that secondary too. More so even than the Steelers were.

What sobers me up: The blitz-crazy ARZ veteran D against the still in pre-season Rams O, including both the OL and a struggling Foles.

But it’s a division game and the Rams CAN win those, even while they’re still in flux on the O.

My prediction: points will be scored, unevenly distributed between the 2 teams, with the team accumulating more of the points getting the win.

Typically, my policy is not to engage in any sort of group ritualistic behaviors, too creepy and cult-like for me. However, since nobody else does fucking anything around here…
