Arizona – omg. The Rams were up 21-0 before AZ got its a first down.

TB – Boy, the Rams kicked the crap out of them. If Cam hadn’t fumbled right before the half, the Rams would have gone up 27-3, and that would have been the end of it right there.

Yes, and what I noticed re-watching them is that the Rams had the upper hand in the Bucs and 9ers games, but mistakes made those games closer than they should have been. The Bucs game took a parade of errors (2 Cam fumbles, a Kupp fumble, and a missed snap, all recovered by TB) to get them back into it. In the SF game, the Rams were dominating the ball, drove the length of the field, and had a deflected pass INT in the end zone. That was tighter than the Bucs game (which was really a blowout).

The Super Bowl had the famous OPI that got CIN their only 2nd half play, and the Rams were without Woods, OBJ, Higbee, Mundt, and Blanton, and Akers was not 100%. They had Stafford and Kupp left.

I think SF was the only team that really played them close. The other 2 games were close because of inexplicable flukes and injuries.

    Interesting. Good points.

But…we can’t overlook the fact that you disagreed with me. As if there was never going to be consequences.

The 49ers games reminded me of the old Tampa Bucs vs GSOT games, a little bit.   ‘Body bag games.’

You knew the 49er/Buc offense was not going to beat the Rams.  They had to rely on their defenses to force mistakes.

But then sometimes the Rams coaches would get a bit conservative to avoid those very mistakes — and so you get close games even without mistakes.

Well, when you go around saying on a Rams board that you think the Rams shouldn’t have won, you should expect some push back.
