We had too many of them. I’m just hoping it may just be a rivalry game against the Seahawks that got us that way. Hopefully, it was that one game, and we don’t get too crazy with these killer penalties, especially if it ends up getting someone kicked out of the game. #KeepOurCool
November 12, 2018 at 12:12 pm #93779znModeratorNot to sound all boy scouty about this, but, I trust McV to handle all this. I remember an interview with I think Donald last season. The interviewer (forget who) said McV is young and comes across as a nice guy and friendly player’s coach type–how will he handle hard case vets? And Donald said something to the effect of (nearly quoting, though from memory): “he’s a coach, I’ve seen that smile go away in a hurry.”
But it’s a lot to handle. Donald & co. are not calming Fowler and Peters down, it’s more like the emotions boil over and take Donald down with it.
I think heck, McV can fix that. That little bit of fun irony aside, I actually do think he can.
November 12, 2018 at 12:51 pm #93789ZooeyModeratorI was surprised by Donald. He took a cheap shot, and I would guess that Britt was being a dick the entire game, but that was surprising. And going back after the game…that is not okay.

Penalties on two drives lead to 14 Hawks points
On the first drive Littleton is called for roughing the passer – they otherwise punt. They of course score on that drive.
The other was on Fowler who mouthed off to the ref after complaining about no holding calls. It was another drive where the Rams forced them to punt but the penalty kept the drive alive and they scored 7
This game didnt have to be so close.
November 12, 2018 at 7:13 pm #93808znModeratorI see some people out there in the Rams net are blaming the ref for the flag on Fowler.
Nah.
Even Donald was jawing at him about it. McV sat him on the ensuing series with a dismissive wave of the hand.
You can say a lot to officials but there’s a line and you do not cross it.
November 12, 2018 at 7:15 pm #93809ZooeyModeratorI didn’t see the Littleton penalty. I was driving my car at that point, but the game was on the radio. The announcers both agreed that they did not think it was roughing, but…”in today’s NFL, you just can’t have contact below the waist.”

Yeah. You can’t say some things.
I understand why he was pissed, though. Most married couples hold each other less than that.
November 12, 2018 at 7:35 pm #93812InvaderRamModeratormore than the personal fouls though.
is that they can’t cover, tackle, or sack the quarterback….
that concerns me more than the personal fouls.

In the moments after Sunday’s win over the Seahawks, Aaron Donald removed his pads on the sideline, put his helmet on and buckled the chinstrap as he ran onto the field to confront Seahawks OL Justin Britt. Rams teammates and officials had to remove Donald from the situation. Late in the fourth quarter, Britt and Donald were involved in a scuffle on the sideline after Britt had a late hit on Donald out of bounds. Sean McVay said he spoke with Donald about the incident. “We always try to learn from these experiences and these are things that as I’m learning as I navigate through the first couple years as head coach, how do you make sure we always demonstrate – from some of our most important players like an Aaron – that these are learning opportunities that we can’t allow the emotions of the game to affect our responses that could potentially hurt the team and something bad could’ve happened to him,” McVay said. “We’ve got to avoid those situations.” Donald declined to speak with reporters Monday.November 12, 2018 at 8:37 pm #93816wvParticipantI was surprised by Donald. I think the Seahawks took a page from Belichick’s first super bowl team. They did a lot of dirty stuff to get under the Rams players skins. And it worked.

vNovember 12, 2018 at 8:44 pm #93819znModeratorI heard (though haven’t verified it) that Goff was the guy who pulled AD off of Britt. Don’t know which incident of the 2 that was. Probably the one after the game.
November 12, 2018 at 8:50 pm #93822znModeratorFrom another thread but it probably belongs here; this isn’t a personal foul of course, it’s the after the game incident.

Plus twitters:
Aaron Donald grabs his helmet, buckles it on, the runs to the middle of the field postgame to see Justin Britt. This is not good. https://t.co/PrQzCU3xGW

The league probably won’t see the humor here, and I’m guessing neither will McVay. https://t.co/qaFv2sQczY
