Troubles in the redzone. Blocked kick, fumble, failed to get a 4th and 1.

The SF OL held up. The Rams OL was not as good. That was the game. IMO.

Shanahan is now 11-7 vs McVay.

Rams came out flat footed…..Shanahan dominated the first half with scrubs at the skill positions that the Rams left wide open.

Rams could be undefeated if the kicking game would execute.

Better team didn’t win, but perhaps the better coaching staff did.

A shame they couldn’t win. Fumbles were crucial, and the kicking game is still a mess. Silver lining is they came back after laying an egg in the first half. Made it a game. Though as decimated as the Niners were, due to injuries, they never should have been able to hang with the Rams. The defense didn’t play well for much of the game, and made the Niners look good.

Williams and Karty, especially, have some work to do, and Adams and Stafford have to get in sync. Oh, well.

My second reaction is to note that, that loss was one of, if not THE worse regular season loss in Rams history.

    Seriously. Name a worse one.

I say that because of the 49er injuries. Shannahan should NOT have been able to win that game. A BACKUP QB?? Are you kidding me. No first string WRs. No BOSA. Etc.

    I’m still in shock.

I will also note once again that K.Williams is a fumbler. If I’m not mistaken he has more fumbles over the last two years than any other player.
And i dont know if you can win a super bowl with a talented-fumbler.

What a loss. I hope they dont have to face a backup QB against Baltimore.

    1989 vs SF MNF

    That loss was worse.

The Rams fumbled on the goal line, missed an FG, allowed two 80+ yard TD passes and blew a 17 point lead in Anaheim.

That loss cost the RAMS HFA in the 1989 playoffs resulting in the phantom sack in Candlestick that spiraled the Rams into 1990’s oblivion and off to STL.

Yeah, i remember that one. Its in the top ten for sure, but the 49ers didnt go into that game crippled, missing stars, with a backup QB.
And this game might well cost the Rams HFA down the road, too.

Guys I am not buying the “beat up 9ers” argument.

Jones is better in that system than Purdy.

They were deep enough at receiver to contend with a team that is shallow at CB.

Bosa is not the only good defensive player they have.

Saleh and Shanahan have long known how to play the McVay Rams.

Rams had no answer for McCaffrey as a receiver on short passes.

Their OL was less beat up than the Rams OL is. Their OL outplayed the Rams OL.

Given all that the Rams lost because of errors (and a dirty play–KW fumbled on the 1 because a defender hauled off and slugged him in the face…though having said that, again, the Rams lost because of their own errors).

But they did not lose to a horribly beat up team. Jones alone was enough to make them competitive.

Bosa, Kittle, Aiyuke, Jennings, etc… they missed key impact people.

But Mac Jones is a good qb in Shanahan’s offense… this Niner offense looked like shit last week against JAX with Purdy… Mac Jones was sharp yesterday.. and he delivered with a game winning drive vs AZ 2 weeks ago…

For some reason, Shannan and Saleh know how the prep for and crack McVay.

WV, a lot of shitty regular season loses… that same 1989 year against the Bills. Everett rallies late to take lead only to lose it in the last minute.

99 against Gus Ferrelotte and the Lions.

Everrett’s first game against the Pats in 86 only to lose on a stunning Hail Mary from Tony Eason…. and in Philly 2 weeks ago… all regular season heartbreakers….

YOU REMEMBER THE LOSSES MORESO THAN THE WINS…

    FUCKING RAMS! I love them!!!

I just came out of my bunker, and it’s dark outside.
