znModeratorOffense finally came alive in the 2nd half. Stafford 4 TDs. That was the 2025 Rams in the 2nd half, we missed them.

InvaderRamModeratorspecial teams. yikes.
otherwise a good team but i still worry.
stafford. i still don’t think he wins mvp. and it’s a shame. but maybe. he could. it’s him or maye, and maye ain’t exactly a household name so maybe stafford is the sentimental favorite?

wvParticipantHigbee always makes a difference. He’s such an under-appreciated player nationally.
I thought it would be a dogfight. But they pulled away, so I’m…as pleased as McVay. And McVay has an edge, you can tell if you listen to his post-game. He’s sayin all the usual cliches but he’s got some anger.
12 wins. If you had told me they’d get 12 at the beginning of the season, I’d have been satisfied. But this team did not play to its potential in the regular season. The Atlanta game. The Panther game. The first 49er game. I think they should have had 15 wins. I give the Eagles and Seahawks credit for their wins.
Stafford or Maye or Macaffrey. I dunno. It’ll be close.

good point on higbee. higbee, puka, and hopefully a healthy adams. that’s a potent receiving trio. then sprinkle in everyone else as well as the running game. i take that offense over any other offense in the league. my main worry at this point is dotson. that one hurts.

canadaramParticipantThe corners really had some difficulty. I will be disappointed if the Rams do not make several new additions to this unit during the offseason. Anyway, nice to see the front seven rack up some sacks. Admittedly a couple of those were coverage sacks, but my comments about the corners still stand. Dotson’s value is abundantly obvious, Stafford took way more heat than I expected and the Cardinals front blew up a couple of running plays in crucial moments. Good to see Mevis make his kicks. Something that I don’t take for granted.
As always, I had the volume on the tv muted and had Rams radio playing on my iPad. Near the end of the game JB Long and MJD were talking about Carolina and I think Jones-Drew said the Rams D needs to commit to stopping the Panthers running game and make Bryce Young beat them through the air. I know that Lake will be back and that should help the secondary a lot, but the thought of the Rams relying on their pass defense to win a playoff game does not instil a lot of confidence in this Rams fan.
EDIT: And yeah, Higbee’s value cannot be overstated.

Billy_TParticipantSo they didn’t dominate the entire way through the game, a win at season’s end is still a win. They needed it. Puka won the receptions title, I think, and Stafford most touchdown passes with 46. Very good regular season, overall, though it should have been even better with more wins, etc.
They should be able to beat the Panthers next week. Happy with the seeding there.

Its a good team. Great offense if they have Dotson and Adams.
Its the defense though — There’s no Aaron Donald. No Vonn Miller. No Jalen Ramsey.
I’m glad they get a chance to avenge the Panther loss. I guess there’s four teams in the playoffs they have lost to – Panthers, Seahawks, Eagles, 49ers.

Dunno if its accurate, but the espn stat site has a three-way tie for reception lead:
Puka
JSN
Trey McbrideAll with 119 catches. Puka had the fewest targets of the three.

wvParticipantSomethin i noticed. Every team in the NFC North finished above .500. Every team in the NFC South finished below .500.
NFC West of course had a 14 win team, and two 12-win teams. I dont think thats ever happened.

while no donald or even a ramsey a healthy lake returning should help the secondary. there was a huge dropoff when he went out. how much was due to his absence we’ll find out.

ZooeyModeratorLooked like the Rams played another half-hearted game for a bit, but after AZ went ahead, I just leaned back and said, “Here it comes.” They were not going to lose that game, and they blew them away like they should have from the start.
Witherspoon was not impressive, in spite of the INT. Wilson had a good day. But apart from that fake punt and ensuing big play TD, the Cards didn’t get much going. Like everyone else, I am hoping Lake is the Safety that binds them all. And I sure want Dotson back. I’m hoping he was held out because they wanted to and not because they had to.
I’m waiting for that schedule. I’ll happily take any time slot except the Monday game. I would prefer Saturday because the Panthers will have the same short week, and it will give the Rams an extra day to recover before heading out on the road.

HramParticipantWell, said wv! I was thinking of doing the same thing as I read Zoey’s post, then I got to yours.
If Lake is what was missing on the defense, the Rams may go all the way this year.
