Well that was a championship performance. I was expecting a close, ugly, division road win.

Bears lost, so i guess Rams regain the no.1 seed, for now.

At this point in the year, my first question is always: Was anyone injured?

Loved the running game, especially on the first drive. The three incompletions that followed in the redzone were disappointing though. Of course, it didn’t matter as far as this game was concerned. Just weird to see Stafford miss Adams. Hopefully they’re back in sync versus Detroit. Corum and Williams were able to run all game. McVay continues to split the carries almost 50/50 between those two and I continue to like it. Good to see a couple of sacks, I just wish that Verse would go on a tear. Anyway, the Cardinals offense clearly missed Harrison Jr. , but the Rams handled their business like a good team should. Glad that McVay rested guys in the 4th. These next two games are going to be brutal.

    Back-to-back one-play TD drives.

Puka is threatening to become my all-time favorite receiver. Maybe he already is. The man is simply ridiculous, and he’s always smiling and having fun.

Last week, I threatened my wife that I might drive to Reno (100 miles) to bet $500 on the Rams and give the 8.5 points. I told her I expected them to win by 20 points (after that loss last week), and that 8.5 was a no-brainer. I did not do that, though.

I actually left the TV to go do some other stuff right when Garappolo came in. I kinda would have liked to see how he could do, but the game seemed likely to turn into a pre-season game once the Rams hit the 45 spot.

I don’t think I’d ever seen Brissett play before. I don’t remember his story. Drafted pretty high by somebody, wasn’t he? He looked like an improvement over Murray to me, but the Rams had Murray’s number. I did miss seeing Murray sitting on the bench looking like he ate bad fish, or something.

Well… that was a complete game, I guess. The Detroit/Seattle 5-day stretch is where the foundation for the playoff run gets established. I think they will take down Detroit. Hitting the road to play Seattle 5 days later, I’m not so sure about.

I actually left the TV to go do some other stuff right when Garappolo came i

Garappolo did not throw a single pass after he came in. They ran the ball 5 times with Ronnie Rivers for 27 yards to kill the clock and then Garappolo took the knee a couple of times.

Remember Howard Balzer from St. Louis? He covered the Cards in that city before the Rams. After the Rams moved back to LA he was hired in Phoenix to cover the Cards again.

This is the sardonic tweet he sent as the game was ending:

    Howard Balzer@HBalzer721
Even Ronnie Rivers averaging 5.1 yards per rush

Anyway I know what you mean about Nacua. In he many ways he does not have the superb level of route running and finesse we expect from elite receivers, cause we’ve been spoiled (starting with the 80s, it’s been Ellard, Anderson to an extent, Bruce, Holt, Kupp, Beckham, and now Adams). But he is so clutch and has magnificent hands, he works sideline catches better than anyone, and is tough as they come. So he’s absolutely a pure receiver, just not the magic dancer kind–he’s more like a TE in a receiver’s body. Either way, he and Stafford have an uber level connection and he just comes through, he has hands like magnets, he adjusts his body in mid catch like nobody else, and there’s usually a lot of physical impact involved, either him being hit by defenders (or running into them) or hitting the ground outstretched to take the crash on the length of his body while protecting the ball. He doesn’t have perfect receiver skills in some respects but in other respects he has other high-end receiver skills in spades.

I like the vid of Verse on the sideline open mouthed speechless in astonishment at Nacua’s TD catch against Seattle:
