Lots of good things in this game, and they were close at the half, but mistakes killed them in the 2nd half.

Still you can take a lot of good things out of this game.

Game turned a bit when Joe Noteboom got hurt.

McVay has to challenge that potential Deebo fumble in the 4th qtr… Even Dean Blandino suggested challenging the play…

2nd week in a row that Van Jefferson dropped a huge pass. I’m getting tired of his inconsistency.

2nd week in a row where McVay elected to kick a meaningless FG to end the game… I guess he wanted the Rams to cover this week.

    Rams had their chances….

The Rams playing well enough to have a chance in this game is better than I expected at the beginning of this season.  Good to see they worked hard in camp.

The Rams have a good o-line. They held the vaunted 49ers front seven in check until the end when it became obvious the Rams had to throw.  Hope Noteboom isn’t too badly hurt.

Stafford is a steely-eyed missile-man. He is really slinging it.  Neither INT was his fault.

l really like K Williams.  The tipped pass was unfortunate but that’s exactly the sort of thing you’d expect from a young player in a big game – looking to run before he has  the ball.

Van Jefferson is a waste of a roster spot.

McVay is coaching the shit out of this team.  Looks like he’s enjoying himself too.

Lots of potential with the young guys on defense.  It will be interesting to see what they look like later in the year.

We just can’t beat the 9ers. 9 straight regular season losses after today’s loss.

Jack, do you think they could have won if Cooper Kupp was playing instead of Van Jefferson?

I feel, even with Kupp, the 9ers would still have beaten us today. The Defense struggled in the 2nd half.

i wanted three things out of this game.

    1. for stafford to come out of it healthy.  check.
    2. for puka to demonstrate he wasn’t a fluke.  double check.
    3. for the rams not to lose by double digits.  check.

i was amazed at how competitive they were.  that first int really killed the momentum.  puka so far has surpassed my expectations.  can’t imagine what this offense looks like when kupp comes back healthy.  the oline continues to look solid.  that was a helluva defense they faced today.  i think the defense performed admirably.

disappointed cam akers was inactive today.  it doesn’t sound good.  i wonder how long he stays a ram.

oh.  also forgot.  tutu impressed me as well.  very surprised.  van jefferson should be the fourth receiver.

kupp, puka, and tutu.  that’s a very good wr trio.  and those names are pretty awesome too.

I wish the Rams had won, and they had a shot at this game, but I was expecting it to be a lopsided affair from the start, and I have to take this as an encouraging sign. The Rams victory last week wasn’t a fluke. This team is better than I expected.

Stafford is significantly better than any point last year. The OL is better. Puka Nacua was a steal. We went from Kupp and a bunch of scrubs to 2 Kupps and an Atwell. I can’t wait to see Nacua and Kupp together. Williams is also promising. The offense looks pretty good, and the TEs haven’t even been worked into the rotation yet. Akers is finished, apparently, and we can hope only that the Rams get something decent in return.

Kendrick is not selling a lot of jerseys, I’ll bet, but I’m not finished with him yet. The rest of the defense has done alright, although the lack of a pass rush is noticeable, and the Rams would do well to mix in a couple of takeaways every week. McCaffrey gained 116 yards on the ground, but 51 yards were on that one long carry, so he barely cleared 3 yds/att on the other 19 rushes. Purdy had just over 200 yds passing. When you consider the long drives SF had the first half, the Rams handled them pretty well, and if not for the two TOs the Rams had, we might have had an upset.

I’m looking forward to some analysis from the tape guys this week.

Wow, this is interesting. I couldn’t fit all the stats in an image, but these were the interesting ones anyway. Rams win time of possession, better on 3rd down, total plays. Those 2 TOs, man.

Well, that looked like a Wildcard team out there.   Potentially a playoff team, if they stay healthy and get Kupp back at some point.

Course every team is a few injuries away from being a disappointment.

Long season, but this team could be inter esting.  I dunno.   I think we usually refrain from sayin much around here till after game 3 or 4.    We’ll see.

So far, they are at the high-end of our consensus expectation-spectrum.   I think we all mostly thought they’d be in that 6 to 10 win range.   They still look like that range is about right, but maybe the 10 win-range is more likely?
