We knew that as soon as it was confirmed as an ACL.

that’s ok, he didn’t join the Rams last year until late Nov….

I’m not sure that the Rams win the SB without him last year….  and if he didn’t get injured in the SB, i think the Rams win would’ve beat Ciny by at least 20 points.

I hope he returns…  his last 2 catches in Baltimore were huge….

his last 2 catches in Baltimore were huge….

Including one of the greatest catches by any Rams receiver ever. 4th and 5 with 1:08 to go.

i really hope he comes back with the rams. but the longer it goes the less optimistic i become.

but if he does come back, potentially the most talented wr corps in rams’ history. i mean bruce and holt better as a duo, but wouldn’t be able to match whoever is at number 3. whether that be obj or robinson.

thanks for sharing that link of the OBJs catches in Baltimore…

Adam Amin with the play – by -play call… i’ve really grown to like his announcing… .

    “Stafford…. throws… Endzone…Beckham,…Held on…Touchdown.. RAMS LEAD!!!!”   just  a great call by that guy…

he also called the Rams / Vikings game the prior week. it was great seeing those huge come-from-behind wins on the road in those loud places….

great magical run for the Rams last year. Rams were 9-1 in Dec through Feb…. they peaked at the right time once OBJ became acclimated  …

i hope OBJ stays with the Rams.

OBJ is the best pure hands catcher I have ever seen in a Rams uniform. And as we all know of course the Rams have a good history at receiver. I am one of those who says if OBJ wasn’t injured in the super bowl, Rams would have dominated every quarter of that game.

Robinson is good but he’s more like a Boldin. That’s obviously a good thing but in comparison OBJ has next level ability. (!) He would stand out if (by re-arranging history and timelines) he were actually on the same team with the original Boldin.

We don’t what the issue is, if there is one, but I hope they sign him. They will be fine on paper without him, but going against what might be the toughest schedule I have ever seen a Rams team face (that I remember anyway), any advantage is a plus.

    Here’s espn’s predicted top 10 teams in 2022. Rams opponents are red-bolded.

    Buffalo
    LA
    Tampa
    KC
    GB

    Cinn
    Chargers
    Dallas
    SF

    Baltimore

Rams play 8 games against the other 9 of those teams (with SF twice of course).

So having OBJ would be nice.

    Kupp, Robinson, OBJ. Yeee-ow.

I think the board-consensus is they need a healthy OBJ for the big moments in the close games down the stretch.   Rams do not have a player with OBJ’s skillset.  Dangerous redzone player and deep-threat.  Takes so much pressure off Kupp and the other weapons.   Makes McVay a much better playcaller 🙂

So many close games last year.  Other than the blow-out of the Cardinals

these were the games down the stretch :

    post-season

    23-20 Bengals

    20-17 49ers

    30-27 Bucs

    24-27 49ers

    20-19 Ravens

    30-23 Vikings

if odell comes back, he’s the most talented receiver on the rams roster.

I think Robinson gives the Rams nearly everything OBJ can bring, except for the elite deep speed and overall quicks. He’s bigger (6’2.5″, 220), and actually better going up for the 50/50 contested stuff. OBJ is really good with those, of course, proving himself among the best hands-catchers ever. But if I’m Stafford, I’m looking for Robinson in the End Zone first. His relative lack of deep speed no longer matters at that point, etc. etc.

It would be an embarrassment of riches to have Kupp, Robinson, and OBJ flying around at the same time, with Higbee in the mix as well. That’s almost unfair to opposing defenses. Henderson, when healthy, is another really good option  out of the backfield.

Looks to me like the Rams are trying to thread the needle here, contract-wise, hoping they can sign him when they need him, not before. But that might be too clever by half, cuz some other team, likely with a lot more cap space, may roll the dice months before he’s ready to play. I hope the Rams work this out.
