    Opinions.

IMO if they keep the passing game as is, add a running game, and have the defense show up, they can beat anybody.

Well the season is on the line. Its a must-win game, with regard to any outside chance at that last Wildcard spot.

Quinn, Brockers and Hayes will be rested.

Its now or never for the Rams in season FIVE.

Rams are 8-12 overall against the Panthers…..

Rams have only beaten them once since the GSOT disbanded….

I had forgotten that they were division rivals……Carolina was in the west for a while….how in the hell did Carolina end up in the NFC West?

Since 2011, The RAMS are 1-3-1 after a bye week….

Bradford’s last game as a Ram was in Carolina.

Rams clenched the Division on Nov 14, 1999 in Carolina when the Rams won it all.

Bulger lost the playoff game against Carolina… thanks Jason Sehorn….

Roman Gabriel used to do color on the radio for Panther games….

Carolina and California have the same letters except for the letter F.

    Thus, here’s your F……Fuck Carolina.

    They can’t beat the Cheatriots.

The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.

The Rams come out of the bye like a runaway freight train and Carolina is tied to the tracks. All the problems that have been plaguing them this season are fixed.

The refs decide to reverse their neglect of Cam Newton against the “dirty” Rams, and throw a flag every time Newton goes to the ground.

If Fisher has a fifth straight losing season, Zooey,
are you gonna be in favor of firing him or keeping him?

    Just curious.

I think they play a cleaner game with the 2 weeks off. The guys coming off the trainers table help and they finally get to the QB a few times.

CK cleans up his INT roll he was on and has a mistake free game.

Carolina feels sorry for themselves and spends their time whining to the refs about the mean Rams and don’t focus on winning.

Welp. Here’s my only concern. They game-plan to stop the passing game, and do, but Carolina’s running game takes over. I really don’t see how they contain Cam on the ground. If you give him too much time in the pocket, he’ll pick a running lane and probably get more on the ground than he would have in the air. Williams needs to dial up a ton of pressure via stunts and blitzes to make Cam get rid of the ball quickly. I also don’t see anyone in our back 7 big enough to stop Cam if he turns into a RB.

All that said, I agree with zn. If *everything* clicks, there’s no way the Rams lose.
There’s the rub though. Have we seen a complete game in all 3 phases yet?

I don’t know. Circumstances change one’s perspective. But at the moment, I don’t really look at it as 5 straight years of losing because I don’t think the first 4 years count. Nobody could have won in any of those seasons given the personnel and the injuries.

So this is Year One of Losing in my book. I think they should make the playoffs this season. If they don’t, my judgement of Fisher will be affected by how far they fell short of that.

“The first four years dont count.”

Ya know. There are places in this world,
where if ya said that, you’d be defenestrated. Like, totally.
    Probably decorticated, first.

Are you serious, btw? The first four years dont count?

I count’em myself. If Fisher’s team loses for the fifth straight year,
    I’m marching on the castle.

Course I’ve never really felt any warmth for Fisher. I just dont cotton to him as a person.

This is the game that the refs, concerned about perception–throw a flag on the defense if they even look at Cam Newton the wrong way. I’ve been on a few bye weeks myself with the NFL because of some busy weekends so I’m not sure about teams right now.

I do see that Carolina is one game behind the Rams in the wild card race.

I’ll give the Rams the edge coming out of the bye.

Look for the dildos to hit the field and the Rams to stick it to the Panthers. Panthers are good against the run so Case will have to win it.

    Carolina: 30th against the pass.

    Rams: 20 Panthers: 17

I can’t say I’m a fan of Fisher, but my patience has not yet run out. I guess I tend to look at things with two different hats from time-to-time. There is my Fan Hat, and my Management Hat. And I mostly have thought about Fisher with my Management Hat on i.e. what would I do if I was Stan, and the answer so far has been exactly what has happened i.e. nothing.

I told anyone who would listen the past couple of years that there was no way Fisher would be fired before the move to L.A., and that he would see the end of his 5-year deal. That was MH thinking. Fisher’s term started with a roster arguably worse than an expansion team roster, and he was hired in part because of his experience moving with the Titans. There just was no way he was going to be terminated. I said that THIS YEAR would be the first year he would feel his seat warm up if the team underperformed. So far, I am just a perfect 10 in calling all that.

My Fan Hat thinking is that Fisher was fairly impressive with the Titans. That was a good, hard-nosed football team that, imo, actually over-achieved. At least in those years where they intersected the GSOT. So I was reasonably open to his devilship when he was hired, and thought he might bring the same kind of toughness to the Rams. Well, he sort of has. Though I now, with my FH, am wondering if he is falling short of hopes. I went into LAST season with Wild Card hopes. Of course, Foles melted down, and etc. But even so, the team ought to have done better, imo. But brand new, young OL, melted down QB, late arriving rookie RB…ambiguous.

Well, as this season has taken a turn for the worse, it kind of tilts last season into a darker setting. According to my Fan Hat. Sand is depreciably slipping through the hourglass now. And I am sick to death of 7-9. Sick of it.

Back to the present and my MH. The QB who may well put the team over the top is not yet out of his berth. I wouldn’t screw with that. I would re-sign Fisher through the remainder of the Memorial Coliseum tenure. What I really don’t want to do is let the guy, and his staff go, and bring in another coach and system just as my golden boy is about ready to play, and make him learn a new system. Fuck that. No. That is just bad, bad timing for a system change when they just spent all that capital on the guy who is supposed to put them into the tournament. Fisher gets two more years from me in my MH, and I predict that is what Stan will do.

So as a fan, I am kind of getting sick of Fisher. As a matter of practical strategy for team development, I give him two more years (unless the wheels fall off and he loses the team, and they go 3 – 13, or something unforeseen like that).

We got people saying the Rams will win by only 10 points, 7 points, ***3*** points. A few people even question whether the Rams CAN win. One loyal “fan” even predicts a LOSS. That’s right, a LOSS!

Apparently I’m the only Rams fan here.

Sad that a once great Rams board has been reduced to a forum in which Panthers fans are free to flame the board without repercussion.

TWO more years, barring a meltdown?

So, conceivable he could have, what, SEVEN losing seasons, before Mr Zooey-Management
would fire his devilship? Seven 7-9-bullshit seasons is what it would take?

    I see.

…well, you do make a good point about the raw rookie QB and what it would mean to HIM,
to have to learn a second pro-system….still….I dunno. I’m pretty sure WV-management would fire Fisher after five losing seasons in a row. I mean, I can understand not winning the NFC title, or winning division championships given Fisher’s bad luck, but five straight flat-out losing seasons would be too much for wv-management. I’d bring in Jack Youngblood. Let him coach the LA Rams. Go ahead, vote against Jack Youngblood. I dare ya.

People are apprehensive about this game.

    It’s a cylinders game.

Rams hit on all 3 cylinders–pass, run, defense–they win. They can hit on just 2 and still win but then it’s closer.

But the trick with cylinders is gettin em all to show up at the same time.

there’s a chance i might be going to the game too, so it’d be nice to top that off with sweet victory!

I’m going Panthers 27-Rams 16. After this we will start seeing empty seats at the Coliseum. Frustrated Ram fans.
