The Lions defensive tackle appeared to intentionally step on the ankle of Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers during Sunday’s battle for the NFC North title.

One of the biggest stories to come out of Week 17 was Ndamukong Suh stepping on the ankle of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. For his actions, the league has suspended Suh without pay for the Detroit Lions’ wild card game this Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, per a report by ESPN’s Chris Mortensen.

During the second half of the NFC North-deciding game between the Lions and Packers, Rodgers took a hit after connecting with Jordy Nelson for a key first down. While on the ground, Suh stepped on Rodgers’ ankle with his right foot before stepping off and replacing it with his left. Suh then stood up as to apply the entire weight of his body onto the quarterback’s leg in what many believe was an intentional act. The NFL stated that Suh was suspended “for a violation of safety-related playing rules”, per Dave Birkett of the Free-Press.

Intentional or not, Suh has done little in his career to warrant the benefit of the doubt. Three years ago he was ejected from a game after stomping on the arm of then-Packers guard Evan Dietrich-Smith. Suh has also been criticized for delivering late hits such as this one on Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Chad Henne.

Here are a couple views of Suh’s ankle step from Sunday:

Suh’s actions come one week after teammate Dominic Raiola stomped on the ankle of Chicago Bears defensive lineman Ego Ferguson. Raiola was suspended one game for the infraction and will return this weekend when the Lions travel to Dallas.

Yeah, the first foot was just football
but the second was just Suh.

    I’m surprised they didnt suspend
    him for longer.

The League overturned Suh’s suspension —
but they still fined him 70K.

So that means they dont buy Suh’s
assertion that his feet were numb and he couldnt
tell the difference between the ground and Rogers leg.

So, the league did think Suh was ‘guilty’ cause
    they fined him 70K.

    But…they lifted the suspension….because ?

    I cant think of Suh
    without thinking of Bradford.
I cant think of Champ Bailey
    without thinking of Torry Holt.

    I cant think of Dakasaurus
    without thinking of
    bacon-feldspar.

    Some things just go together.

Yes, i have a lot of time on my hands
today. Waitin for the furnace repair-man.
I cant think of him, without thinking of
piles of money burning in a furnace.

Pretty much agree. Bacon-feldspar recently had to replace the AC and furnace. He’s still paying for it. It hurt to do, but had to be done, and long story short, my bedroom now gets cool air in the summer and heat in the winter.

You should do what we do in Maine. We never WAIT for the furnace repair guy. We provide free room and board for them. It can be a little inconvenient (“I never watch that. Here, give me the remote.”) But, he’s already there and ready to go at a moment’s notice.

If Ag would invent some kind of Fusion technology
    instead of making scalloped potatoes,
    maybe i would be
    warm.

Also, i think this would be a good
    year to trade down.
