i like it. i mean i don’t know anything about the players you selected, but they hit all the positions that i think the rams should be looking to fill in the draft.

maybe the one need i see missing is edge defender but maybe the rams get one in fa. but yeah. i was thinking defensive back, interior oline, defensive line, some depth for the receiver position. i like it.

Well if i had the 23 pick, It’d be awfully tempting to trade down a bit.  Pick up another 3rd or somethin.  I dunno.

I have a feeling the Rams may look to getting that Edge in Free Agency. The free agent market for Edge Rushers, may be the strongest we have ever seen. On top, if, I’m correct, we will have close to 65 million in cap space as well

well i figure they hit on four of their draft picks in 2023 not including evans. avila, turner, young, and nacua. and they need to hit on four more for 2024. the 2023 draft class could yield more before it’s all over but i’ll say four for now. they gotta hit on four of the eleven in 2024. or maybe they figure stock up on more lower round draft picks by trading down and try to get that number by volume rather than fewer but higher quality draft picks? they don’t seem to value higher draft picks and instead try to use lower round draft picks who may not be perfect prospects but tick enough of the boxes and are a fit for the rams’ schemes? or maybe it was just out of necessity? i’m not really sure. so it will be interesting to see how snead approaches this draft. i used to freak out about the rams going draft after draft without a first rounder but not as much these days.

or maybe they figure stock up on more lower round draft picks by trading down and try to get that number by volume rather than fewer but higher quality draft picks?

All the reports I’ve seen so far say that the 2024 draft is loaded. Just loaded. Given that, is there that much difference between a 1st round pick in the 20s and a 2nd round pick? Presumably with a loaded draft, they would have multiple good players to choose from both in the low end of the 1st round and in the second round.

In terms of their hit percentage, I give them 6 hits for 2023 so far (Avila, Young, Turner, Nacua, Allen, and Ethan Evans) and 3 hits for 2022 (Williams, Lake, and Yeast). A player or two could still emerge from either draft (Hampton? Durant? Bruss?) So that’s by my count 9 of 22, or 41%, which is excellent. Let’s say they trade down in 2024 and get 12 picks. 41% of that would be 4.9 or actually 5.

4 is the number i think they need to hit. you’re on the optimistic side. i’m a little more on the pessimistic side. so let’s say a range of 3-5.

plus of course they’ll need to hit on some other personnel moves. but it looks doable.

I just did this as a salute to Jack. My first ever time using a draft simulator. I rejected most trade offers until the Patriots wanted to move up in the third round. I immediately regretted accepting their offer. I made sure to draft a big corner because Jack liked his corners big.

    My picks:

    19. Dallas Turner Edge Alabama

    52. Payton Wilson LB NC State

    83. Khyree Jackson CB Oregon

    154.  Ray Davis RB Kentucky

    155. Theo Johnson TE Penn State

    196. Joe Milton QB Tennessee

    209. Keith Randolph Jr. DL Illinois

    213. James Williams S Miami

    217. Ryan Flournoy WR Southeast Missouri State

    254. Delmar Glaze IOL Maryland

I think this is his last post, from Jan. 27, which happens to be a mock draft:

Of course, that is if we can resign Kevin Dotson, and sign either AJ Espensa or Shaq Lawson, from the Buffalo Bills.

I’m reposting my dream draft, if somehow this happens, I did draft a RB.You may, like him.

1(19). Kool Aid McKinstry CB Alabama or Terrion Arnold CB Alabama
2(52). Sedrick Van Pran C Georgia
    3(83). Jonah Ellis Edge Utah
    3(comp). Malachi Moore S Alabama
    5(152). Erik Alt TE Iowa
    5(153). Kaden Prather WR Maryland
    6(190). Omar Speights ILB LSU
    6(211). Sheridan Jones CB Clemson
6(213). Fabian Lovelett DT Florida State
6(216). Isiah Davis RB South Dakota State
    6(217). Anim Dankwah OT Howard
