wvParticipantAlas, it is that time.
This one seems ridiculous but its the first one i looked at:
Pick 13 : Ty Simpson, QB, Alabama
Ty Simpson could benefit from a weak quarterback class and has promising traits. He may have the most upside in the group despite struggling in the second half of the season behind limited protection and run support. He has a strong arm, can hit every area of the field with velocity and touch and processes quickly with strong anticipation. Experience will be his biggest hurdle.
==Pick 29 : Brandon Cisse, CB, South Carolina
Brandon Cisse is a sticky corner with good hips and change-of-direction. He pattern-matches well, contests throws with strong hands and has the recovery ability when slightly beaten. He should look even better behind the Rams’ pass rush.

znModeratorRams are expected to receive two additional selections in the 2026 draft. Both of them are projected to land in the seventh round: one for Demarcus Robinson and one for Christian Rozeboom

wvParticipantDaniel Jeremiah, mock:
Pick 13: WR Makai Lemon, USC.
The Rams value tough, rugged receivers who are also playmakers. It would almost be unfair to add Lemon to an offense that already includes Puka Nacua and Davante Adams.Pick 29: Blake Miller, OT, Clemson
He’s flying a bit under the radar now, but you’ll hear a lot more about Miller as we go through the draft process. The former high school wrestler made 54 starts at Clemson. He’s a tough, competitive right tackle.https://www.nfl.com/news/daniel-jeremiah-2026-nfl-mock-draft-1-0

InvaderRamModeratorit should be defensive backs. hopefully matt comes back. looked the best i’ve ever seen him. hopefully mccoy is available in the first first rounder. then a guy like cisse. re-sign curl.

wvParticipantPFF mock.
13. Los Angeles Rams (via Atlanta): CB Jermod McCoy, Tennessee
Armed with two first-round picks, the Rams have ample opportunity to add to an already loaded roster this year. Cornerback should be a priority given the team’s recent struggles in coverage. Tennessee’s Jermod McCoy did not play this season due to a knee injury, but he delivered a standout 2024 campaign in which he ranked ninth among qualified cornerbacks in coverage grade (89.6).
==
29. Los Angeles Rams: CB Keith Abney II, Arizona StatePhiladelphia drafted cornerbacks with its first two picks in 2024, a move that paid off with a championship. The Rams could look to follow a similar blueprint to address their biggest weakness. Arizona State’s Keith Abney II is coming off an outstanding final season in which he ranked among the top 15 qualified FBS cornerbacks with an 85.3 coverage grade while recording two interceptions and nine pass breakups.

canadaramParticipantAs it stands right now, my guess is that one pick is a DB and the other is a WR. Obviously, an overhaul is needed in the secondary, but I can’t imagine the Rams going defense with both first round picks. It just doesn’t fit with their current profile.
I would expect them to try to address the secondary in FA or through a trade as well as in the draft. So that could change how things go in the first round.

I’d be curious how they view their ‘super bowl window’. Maybe they think Stafford will only play one more year. Or maybe two if he stays healthy next year. If thats how they look at it, they may lean more into ‘going all in’ for the short term. I have a feeling they will really push-the-cap this year. I think they will do more than just sign their core young guys.
As far as the draft who knows. Depends on who they are gonna sign in free agency. Can they pick up a DB in free agency. Can they pick up an OLineman in free agency. Do they have Olinemen on the roster they really like, etc.
If Higbee is leaving do they need a Tight End?

if they really are going all in, they don’t need to keep throwing valuable resources toward offense. the offense was just fine this year and will be next year. they need to start investing real capital into the defense if they see a one or two year window.

I dunno. Davante is 33 and he gets pounded out there. Puka is gonna start showing wear and tear and brain-damage in the near future, the way he plays. That 13 pick is tricky. Someone is gonna drop who will be very tempting for McVay.
I bet they split the picks about 50/50 tween Offense and defense.

wvParticipantBucky Brooks
13: Jermod McCoy, CB Tennessee
McCoy is coming off an ACL injury that cost him the 2025 season, making this a risky pick. However, the Tennessee standout is a natural CB1 whose polished game enables him to play in a zone-based scheme that prioritizes ball skills and awareness. The Rams use the first of their two first-round choices to boost their 19th-ranked pass defense.
==29: Ty Simpson, QB Alabama.
Simpson was a starter for just one season at Alabama. Still, despite his limited experience, the QB could intrigue Sean McVay as a potential successor to Matthew Stafford. As a mobile playmaker, Simpson fits the Baker Mayfield mold, which has worked within this Rams system.

i would wait until later rounds. second and lower. not the first round. unless that player just totally blows them out of the water. maybe lemon is that guy.

InvaderRamModeratori think a guy like lane would be intriguing. he’d be a second day pick. he’s stood out in the senior bowl so far.
ja’kobi lane arm length
Based on official 2026 Senior Bowl measurements, USC wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane has an arm length of 32 5/8 inches. He measures 6’4 1/8″ and 196 pounds with a 6-foot-8 wingspan, boasting a long, lean frame ideal for winning contested catches.

They need speed. I think Lane is in the 4.5 range (though that’s not official yet).
They need speed. Speed everywhere. Plus, guys who are fast. And also, guys who get from point A to point B in a very short time.

First pick traded to Atlanta.

Round 3, Pick 97 (97th overall): Bobby Evans, OT, Oklahoma
Round 4, Pick 134 (134th overall): Greg Gaines, DT, Washington

Both edwards and scott still play (for the Bills and Panthers respectively). Gaines keeps signing 1 years with the Buxx but isn’t a starter. Rapp is depth for the Bills.
And that’s it.

InvaderRamModeratorone reason i would support lemon as a draft pick which i didn’t think of before. he could double as a return specialist.
but i still like lane. in the later rounds. looks like a mcmillan type out there who the rams were interested in. both did not have elite speed.

Whether or not they add Lane, they need speed. They can of course add both a speed guy and Lane.
It’s defense too. They missed Young’s speed in the Conference game.

my main point is it doesn’t have to be in the first round.
lemon obviously would be a first round pick. but i could at least see the logic because he’d have the added benefit of being a return man. then eventually take over for adams. or maybe he even starts immediately if adams is cut (i hope not).
but even if the rams need speed, it can be gotten in day 2.

13. Los Angeles Rams (from ATL): Makai Lemon, WR, USC
No college football pass catcher displayed better hands, route running or toughness than Lemon, who won the Biletnikoff Award as the nation’s top receiver. Perhaps his dimensions (5-11, 195) won’t wow scouts, but his production and intangibles are top-shelf. He was the reason USC won nine games this season and would be a gift for Matthew Stafford and company.
29. Los Angeles Rams: Avieon Terrell, CB, Clemson
ACC offenses wisely stayed away from Terrell this year, but that didn’t limit his impact. The younger brother of Falcons starter A.J. Terrell, Avieon didn’t record an interception but broke up nine passes and forced five fumbles. His play is reminiscent of former LSU and NFL star Tyrann Mathieu.
61. Los Angeles Rams: Blake Miller, OT, Clemson
January 31, 2026 at 11:06 pm #161890
znModerator61. Los Angeles Rams: Blake Miller, OT, Clemson
They already have an OT tandem in Jackson and McClendon. If Hav retires, they will need depth, but not a 2nd rounder. That’s too high a pick for a lineman who will just sit as depth. Use the 2nd rounder for something else, something more urgent (another CB?). My bet is that they will get their 3rd tackle by doing all of the following and seeing what sticks: low draft pick (after round 3), UDFA, “ronin,” and a budget veteran FA or 2.
It’s the problem with national reporters. They don’t really know every team. So while they’re worrying about replacing ROT for the Rams, Rams fans are happy with the fact that the Rams already have 2 good bookends, and they got them both for the combined price of one 5th round pick.
I mentioned it before, but, that means they got 2 OL starters from the 2023 draft (Avila and McClendon). The last time they did that was 97, when they drafted Pace and Tucker–and Pace was a no-brainer 1st pick in the draft. Before 97, they got 2 OL starters in the 75 draft–Harrah and France. Before that it was Cowan and Scibelli in 61. So, you know, every 20 something years more or less/give or take.

InvaderRamModeratorterrell made an impact his freshman year in special teams – specifically as a returner. this kind of profile should definitely be on their radar.
His special teams prowess was equally impressive, averaging 32.1 yards per kickoff return and 15.8 yards per punt return, with a punt return touchdown and a kickoff return touchdown to his name.

Really interesting insight from Les Snead on how having 2 first-round picks slightly altered the Rams’ scouting process without taking away from their work on later-round selections (which they’ve had a lot of success with in recent years):

znModeratorWyatt Miller@wymill07So if one’s winter, we’re not going to change it to summer, but you might change it from 42 degrees to 39 degrees
Ah, big reveal. With a high pick for the first time in years, the Rams are looking for colder players.
I think the Chicago game might have influenced that.

This is a fantastic DB class. I have a huge cluster of 2nd and 3rd round grades at both safety and CB right now. The testing and on-field drills will be fun to watch at the Combine. Interested to see who separates from the group. -
