    So, with a new computer I lost my old Word software. Ive been bouncing around the net considering pros and cons of Microsoft vs alternatives. Anyone have any thots or experience with free alternatives like LibreOffice, etc?

    I am definitely not signing up for some annual Microsoft fee. But I guess i can download Word 2021 for a onetime fee of about 120 bucks or so. But i have read some positive spin on the alternatives. Apparently about 200 million people use LibreOffice. So, i dunno.

    I hate downloading ‘anything’ btw. I’m always thinking I’m downloading a bucket of CIA viruses and vile dormant cyber pods waiting to take over my computer.
