Sean Mannion is working out with his former college QB coach, formerly at OSU, now at Nebraska.
Will be fun to work with Sean Mannion of the LA Rams over the next couple weeks! Little fade net work today #GBR pic.twitter.com/8PRVyugcCJ

I suspect that given the time they have under the new CBA, which limits practices, getting both Foles and Mannion up to speed was a tall order.

yeah. it was always gonna be tough for mannion to get playing time this past season. hope this move doesn’t hinder any development time for the players.
February 12, 2016 at 10:33 am #38882lyserParticipantObviously, he is the next Tom Brady (sans the cheating). Dunno why everyone is so worked up about QB, zn could hand off to Gurley.

That kind of thinking is how we ended up with QB’s like Dieter Brock. “Anyone can hand off to Eric Dickerson”….how’d that work out for us? đ

Well, when I tried handing off to Gurley, turns out, I was too slow. So then in spite of swearing up and down that he would never trade me, Fisher made a swap with the Rams Huddle forum. That’s how Nittany ended up with them. But it blew up on them though, because Nittany may be the only guy I’ve heard of who melted down just doing hand offs.

Woulda been fine if Everett and ED stuck around. Imagine – that D, Flipper, Ellard, that line, ED and Everett. Would partied like is was 1999 (get it?).

Confused here – isn’t he handing off for the Raiders now? And you BELIEVED Fisher? AT this point that’s on you, not him. Dummy.

Sports is the crucible of human virtue. The distillate remains are human vice.
February 13, 2016 at 9:26 pm #38962MackeyserModeratorI think Mannion could be our Franchise QB if given a chance. I truly do.
I think if we kept the D together mostly (Long likely being the biggest casualty), then we can focus on WR, TE and BPA with our first 3 picks.

Speaking of which.
Here’s an old post, where I selected from various camp reports on Mannion last summer.

observations from camp posts on Mannion
Jimi
Mannion looks solid so far doing extremely well on crossing patterns
Sean Mannion continues to be nails on crossing routes
I really like most of what I have seen from Sean Mannion today.
[Day 2] still liking Mannion
Mike Franke
Sean Mannion had a couple of hiccups in the final 7-on-7 drills mostly for rookies but didnât have a bad day. His release looks a little weird but he throws a good-looking ball.
thehammer
watching Mannion I felt like John Sutter finding gold At Sutters Mill..much leaner/quicker then Foles, always surrounded by coaches, getting solid reps as the #2âŠlot to like..codemonkey
Mannion looks like he could already be the QB2.
RamzFanz
Mannion might just be the real deal. I know it’s early and not real yet, but I can’t wait for preseason!
Bold prediction, he’s our #2. I’m not kidding. He’s accurate, athletic, a fast release, and the least intercepted of the 3 non-starters.
CoachO
Mannion wins the backup job. Even after 3 days, he shows much more upside than either Keenum or Davis. Itâs just a matter of time before this happens officially, but the sooner the better.
Tortoise
Mannion had the best day for the QBs. He had an interception, and a couple of (well) overthrown balls, but for the most part he was on target. If he can keep this up, #2 QB is his.

Yes, sir. Either that or a pot pipe. You decide, I’d be proud to own either.
February 14, 2016 at 11:48 am #38982ZooeyModeratorAt the risk of ruining a perfectly good reputation for pessimism, I will venture to say that it wouldn’t be asking a lot of Mannion to exceed the performance of many of his recent predecessors.

Interesting how Mac’s mind went right to vibrator, huh?
I’ll be sure to note that in the ‘poster profile’ I maintain on all the members of this board.

I know. Embarrassing, right?
And scouts said I had the grace and savvy of a young Steve Dils at my pro day.

I thought the scout who said that WAS Steve Dils.
Sorry, but…he says that about everyone.
