No way in hell can Fisher go back to Hill after yanking him like that. AD is the man now like it or not. Only thing Fisher can do now is go to Keenum when he knows the offense. AD did not distinguish himself but I honestly did not think Hill played that bad. I cannot believe the offensive pass interference calls by Houchuli an his crew today. And the facemask call on Quick was a joke.
Rams were awful on offense on the line and the running game. The running game did pick up with Davis in there. Perhaps because AD is a threat to run himself and has a better arm.
Anybody who has been claiming that Hill is an upgrade over Clemens looks pretty silly right now.

Either way, even if it had been a yank, coaches sit qbs and return to them all the time.

Jeff Fisher said Shaun Hill’s quad strain flared up, made some poor decisions. Will know more about his status tomorrow"Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. " Philip K. Dick
September 7, 2014 at 4:40 pm #6419PA RamParticipantIf Davis is #1….we’ll be #1….at the NFL DRAFT.
Hopefully Hill is okay…but they HAVE to get Keenum ready soon.

September 7, 2014 at 4:40 pm #6420GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI’m sorry the look on Hill’s face did not look like a guy who had an injury. He looked like a guy who had just been demoted.
I don’t buy the injury story. This is Davis’s team now.

We just disagree on all of that.
Time will tell.
Because if he did just jerk Hill–it would have been the worst mistake he’s made as a head coach, going back to the early Tenn. years. I doubt he’s that crazy.
September 7, 2014 at 4:43 pm #6424GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantHe was jerked.

So you said.
September 7, 2014 at 4:49 pm #6431GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantZN if he has issues with some kind of inflammation then Davis should be the starter. But lets face it, Your shut out at home at the half 13-0, you didn’t distinguish yourself on offense in the least bit.

Davis’ team?
Welcome to 0-16.
September 7, 2014 at 6:08 pm #6454MackeyserModeratorI dunno if you can definitively say that Hill was mad at being demoted or mad that “man, I FINALLY get back to being a starter and I get ONE FREAKIN’ HALF before I get a quad? WTF???”
It’s possible it could be any number of things. And… Fisher’s not Belichek. He’s never been shy about talking about “football decisions”.
Sports is the crucible of human virtue. The distillate remains are human vice.
September 7, 2014 at 6:30 pm #6465GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI think Davis should be number one. I’ve said that before. He has more experience in Schotty’s offense and he’s younger and more athletic. Hill is better suited to the back up role.

September 7, 2014 at 8:14 pm #6506joemadParticipantDid Hill get injured on the play when he threw the pick or did the injury happen on a different play?
Hindsight is 20/20… should’ve taken a knee to end the half. That play was piviotal as was the injury.
September 8, 2014 at 12:05 am #6592GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantScrew the injury story. If he had a fucking quad injury why was he standing on the sideline like nothing was wrong? Why did he not have an ice bag taped to his leg.
This guy was pulled from the game because the coach was not happy with his play in the 1st half. Simple as that.

September 8, 2014 at 7:53 am #6616GreatRamNTheSkyParticipantI am not going to be like RFIP was / is for Sam Bradford either and just promote Austin Davis every chance I get.
I honestly think AD is a better answer at number one with Hill as the back up. I think Davis needs to start for one because I am not sure he’s suited for coming off the bench. Not sure he can come in cold and just play. I think because he is young he has to build up to it during the week. Hill has shown over the years that he is better at stepping in during a game on a moments notice. Plus, and I’ll reiterate this, there is no future in playing Hill as a starter. He’s 34 years old. While that is relatively young in the real world, in football it is ancient. This team is not going to the Super Bowl or playoffs. They are not. So why not play the young guy and get him some experience. Its not like he doesn’t know the system. Davis has been in this offense for 3 years now. I think this kid can play but he needs this coach to put him in and tell him he’s the guy no matter what. Ron Jaworski in his day when he went to the Eagles grew as a QB when they put him in and told him he didn’t have to look back over his shoulder. He was the guy no matter.Grits
