    At this point it would seem that these are the guys with the real chance to make the team:

    Tavon Austin(lock)

    Cooper Kupp(lock)

    Robert Woods(lock)

    And after that it gets fuzzy:

    Pharoh Cooper

    Mike Thomas

    Nelson Spruce

    Josh Reynolds

    Bradley Marquez

    I’m guessing they certainly keep 5 and maybe 6 if the guy is good on special teams. But some guys are obviously out. They don’t have to decide on Thomas for 4 games so that saves someone.

    So I’m guessing that it’s:

    Pharoh Cooper

    Nelson Spruce

    Josh Reynolds

    That would push out Marquez and when Thomas gets back probably Reynolds to practice squad? Or does Spruce go?

    Big competition at this spot.

I thought he did a great job this offseason demonstrating his ability he’s a guy that can go down the field and then also contribute in the intermediate game and underneath. When the ball is in his hands, good things happened this offseason. I thought his confidence grew, and this is something that we’ll navigate through together, but when he’s back we’ll be excited to have him.”

    (On if he’s spoken to Thomas since the suspension)

    “Yeah. I’ve spoken with Mike and it’s something that we’ll deal with and it’s something that we’ll keep those discussions internally. We’re going to support Mike, we’ll put our arm around him and we’ll embrace him when he comes back.”

    maybe, but it gives cooper and spruce a tiny opening. if they can make a strong enough impression, who knows?

    also special teams has to be taken into account. do spruce or coop have any value on special teams?
