Last year’s Tampa game was the COLOR RUSH game.
Keenum: 14-17 234 and 2 T.D.s.
Gurley: 21-48 and 1 T.D.
Tavon had 2 TDs.
Offensive battle:
Rams: 31 Bucs: 23
Winston threw the ball 50 times going 29-50 for 363 yards/ 2 TDs and 1 int.
0 sacks.
This game it’s going to be vital the Rams limit the Bucs chances on offense. We will really need Gurley to come through–lots of first downs–march the field–use the clock. I don’t want another shootout with them. Especially IN Tampa.
Cards intercepted Winston 4 times but they have a better secondary. He’s going to launch it.
And the Rams will have to keep track of Doug Martin–obviously.

September 19, 2016 at 1:04 pm #53327nittany ramModeratorWell, if the Rams lose this game they’re staring down the barrel of another 7-9 season.
Need to win this one.
September 19, 2016 at 5:00 pm #53341NERamParticipantI suppose they could.
Would be nice if:
• Yesterday’s defense shows up
• Britt keeps it going
• The Rams can figure out how to apply more downfield pressure, so that Gurley and Austin have a little more wiggle room. It seems like every time they touch the ball behind the LOS, there’s at least 2 or 3 defenders waiting for them.September 19, 2016 at 6:55 pm #53348wvParticipantDoug Martin is hurting, i see:

vSeptember 19, 2016 at 7:12 pm #53349InvaderRamModeratori want to see the rams d shut this tb offense down.
gurley needs to have a great game. i think he can. i think he’s pissed and embarrassed by how this offense has performed. and he should be pissed. he should let the offense know that they’re not good enough. this team needs to be motivated and challenged or they will always be 7-9.
but the offense still is mediocre. unless spruce and cooper are the answer, they’re going to struggle scoring points. need another effort from defense and special teams like last week on the road to win.
in hekker we trust.

September 20, 2016 at 11:52 am #53405canadaramParticipantBased on what I’ve seen from this team since 2012 I give an emphatic no as my answer to this question. I’m not talking about the history of the Rams vs. Tampa since 2012, I’m talking about the history of the Rams coming off important divisional wins that give me a glimmer of hope about the team.
I expect Tampa to get off to a fast start in on offense. Winston and Evans had success last season vs. the Rams and I expect that to continue. Currently the Rams offense hasn’t shown that it can score enough points to overcome any deficit. If Tampa gets out to a quick start, I expect this to be an ugly game.
September 20, 2016 at 12:13 pm #53406AgamemnonParticipantSeptember 20, 2016 at 5:30 pm #53434ZooeyModeratorI’m going with No.
Right now the Rams are fortunate to be 1-1. The defense won that game. The offense did everything they could to lose the game except turn over the ball. I don’t expect the Rams to suddenly start scoring multiple TDs on offense, and I think that is what it is usually going to take, especially on the road.
I think the Rams need at least 20 points to win in Tampa, and I don’t see how they are going to get that many.
September 20, 2016 at 6:43 pm #53440InvaderRamModeratori’m willing to gamble the rams score a td this weekend. i’m even willing to gamble the rams score 2 tds. they might still lose though. my guess is the secondary gets exposed big time.

Tampa is a mystery with a losing history and the Rams are a bit of a mystery. Also with a losing history. Is there a number system or string theory where both teams could lose?
I mean if its, say, negative-ten to negative-ten would both teams lose,
or would that be a tie?…oh piss on it — Rams 10 Bucs 5. Gurley gets over 100 total yards. Spruce adds a spark. Keenum doesnt do anything stupid all day.

vSeptember 21, 2016 at 11:07 am #53493znModeratorKeenum doesnt do anything stupid all day.
w
vWell, Keenum has stated 7 games now since last season.
Is there a long list of stupid things he has done as a starter?
See if you said that about Kyle Boller, or Austin Davis, or Sean Hill, or Keith Null, or Nick Foles for that matter, I would have no complaint.
But Keenum is not even in the same universe as them in terms of doing stupid things starting.
Now, invariably, around on the net anyway, people say, Keenum is not starting caliber he doesn’t have the tools why do you pump him up.
Well, we know. He’s a #2 caliber qb. He’s starting as a placeholder until Goff is ready.
But he’s a good #2 qb and has only really looked bad the one time the defense let the opposition put a big lead up on him. He’s not equipped to bring a team back from that.
Which doesn’t mean we have to worry about him doing stupid things. It just means that if the Rams play defense, he can give you enough to win games.

Martin is out with a hamstring injury. Charles Sims (who had 7 carries for 50 yards- one being a 35 yard run) vs Rams last year starts.
Rams need to shut down WR Jackson outside and get pressure on Winston. He had 125 yards passing through 3 quarters last year before Rams laid back with a big lead and he racked up 238 yards in the 4th quarter

vWhoa, whoa there, cowboy. Let’s not start making bold predictions about the Rams putting up double digits on offense. We dare not fill ourselves with that sort of hope.
A 3-2 win will do the trick just as well.

September 21, 2016 at 1:56 pm #53510WinnbradParticipantLately the Rams have been beating up on Tampa, but the Rams are on the road. We suck on the road.
I have no idea how this game will go. Does the O stop choking on it’s own vomit? Does Gurley have a decent day? Can our safeties cover the sidelines???
I’m lost on this one.
Based on the last few years against Tampa, I say the Rams win 22-17. It’ll be a nail biter. Lots of stupid penalties. Missed field goals. A few turnovers. Gurley breaks a big one. And our D wins the game.

vYeah, I think this is the game where the defense snaps out of its slump, and scores a touchdown. So the Rams could easily hit double digits, and put up a 10-spot. Maybe even 13.

Whoa, whoa there California boy. Let’s not go putting raisins in the salad just yet. Nobody said anything about THIRTEEN points. Whadda-you-think this is?..the heady days of Sam Bradford dinking and dunking in the great Spagnolo offense ? You think its easy to put up a 13 spot ?
Really?! Put down the salad tongs and get real.Maybe Ten points if the D gets a pick-6, on the road. Maybe.

They will score a td but miss the extra point.
