Displayed a very strong arm and had a real pretty 70 yard bomb for a TD. Dan Fouts was very impressed with him.
I think the Rams are going to miss Clemens. Not sure that Hill is an upgrade.Grits
BTW: Chargers are loaded with skilled players like you wouldn’t believe. They have re-tooled nicely and I think they give Denver all they can handle this year in the AFC West.

I promise you, on that one pass it was timing plus playing the Dallas secondary plus it just being the pre-season with no special gameplanning for the qb. Clemens does not have a strong arm. That was known going back to the Jets. If you put together years of their work, Hill is a clear upgrade over Clemens. One pre-season game notwithstanding.
Once teams last year figured out you can stack up against the run and dare Clemens to beat you passing, it was rough sledding.
I think Clemens played over his head with the Rams and was a good leader in a tough situation. He does have nice accuracy on 10-15 yard laser type passes. But last night is no indication of how a decent defense will play him after gameplanning him. THAT would be a completely different story.
Schott had to start Clemens at one point as the OC in New York. Believe me, the Rams know who he is and what he can and can’t do.

He threw it well enough that they should have won at least 8 ball games.
Maybe you should open your eyes?

And we can thank Schott for that, Grits, because he set Clemens in the best position he could, given what they had.
Clemens wasn’t beating Seattle on that MOnday night game. Stacy was plus the pass rush was doing that.
If you take Clemens avg. attempts per game and extrapolate it across 16 games, in 2013 he would have ranked 31st in the league.
If they thought he could throw, they would have let him throw.
I like Clemens on that final drive that game, the one that got them to the 6 (then they failed to score). But…last night is just not Clemens across time. In real games with the Jets and Rams, he has already shown what he is. He’s just not accurate past 15 or so yards. That’s been true of him for years. One play last night is not going to change that picture.
BUT! Having said all that, I wish him well. He played above himself last year I think. While he was the qb they upset 3 division winners. If he goes on and does well some more, good for him.

When you watch Hill throw…just think Kurt Warner(imo) cuz Kurt had a weaker arm than both Hill or Clemons!!! LOL
But Warner got it done with decision making and accuracy. I suspect Hill is that same type of QB as Warner….not a great arm but gets it done with accuracy and decision-making.Although, I will say…I sure liked the Saint’s QB (Griffin) alot. He seemed to be a very good prospect and am heartened that Snead tried to sign him off their PS and recognizing promising talent in Ryan Griffin.
I loved Donald and his penetration was crazy…even when he didn’t know what to do!! Donlad got into the backfield SO FAST…he’s gonna be a joy to watch this year. I liked Westbrooks and MSam had some nice hustle plays. Our LBs looked a bit too excited, but I loved Gaines, Joyner, MoWilliams….even when they made mistakes…they were HUNTING in a big way. I like that!
But, my biggest surprise – for me personally, was how GOOD GRob looked at LT.
I was really nervous that he’d be a LG only and was too big…but he sure moved well at LT. imo
– and I am very happy bout that.
GRob wiped out the entire DL on one of the run plays where he down blocked and took 3 DL with him…just like in college!! LOL"I should have been a pair of ragged claws...
